Azraa goes to jail. A flashback to the year 1992 when Azraa was born reveals how her parents quarreled over the mother's career in art. Moving forward to the year 2000, it's Azraa's birthday; her parents are negligent of her. It's the year 2019, Azraa’s mom asks her to get married.
Ibrahim tells Doha that art is hypocritical. A flashback reveals how Azraa was disappointed when her parents attended a concert and forgot to pick her up from school. Flashforward to 2019, Azraa is bleeding and holding a sharp object; she says that someone has assaulted her.
Flashback to 2000, Azraa is mad at her parents for neglecting her and leaving her to faint as she hears loud bangs on the door; Fawzia is pregnant. Flashforward to 2019, there are preparations for Azraa’s engagement. Youssef is married to Doha, and Fawzia’s daughter is also married.
2019: Azraa throws away her engagement dress and hits the doorman with her car. Ibrahim suspects that Azraa is hiding something. Fawzia remembers how she and Ibrahim separated because of a movie contract, and how she married Samir, against her mother's warnings, as a sort of revenge.
2000: Ibrahim marries Doha, and she gives birth to his child. On the same day, Fawzia gives birth to a baby girl from Samir. 2019: Investigations start on Azraa’s killing of the doorman. Azraa enters a comma, and when she wakes up, she confesses to killing him because he harassed her.
Ibrahim and Fawzia start looking for a lawyer to defend Azraa, and lawyer Mariam eventually takes up the case. Samir is mad at the incident, but Fawzia tells him Azraa has done what every harasser deserves.
Fawzia, Ibrahim, and the grandma visit Azraa at the prison; she ignores them all except the grandma. Azraa figures that Ahmed doesn't want to see her after the incident. Azraa saves Asmaa from suicide as she despairs over being neglected. Doha is worried about Ibrahim and Fawzia's growing closeness.
Doha falls apart when her son blames her for neglecting him. Someone takes a photo of Ibrahim and Fawzia together. Azraa’s grandma visits Ahmed to ask him to go visit Azraa. Azraa, meanwhile, gets into trouble at the prison.
Fawzia refuses to get back to her acting career as she feels guilty for the mischief that has befallen her daughter. Mariam defends Azraa in court and presents new evidence that implicates Bayoumi and could acquit her, and the court is adjourned pending the forensic report.
Ahmed's mother encourages him to forget about Azraa and have another fiancée. Nousa gives Azraa a key and asks her to keep it away from all the inmates. Azraa's grandma finds a CD with a record of Azraa giving an account of what actually happened to her.
Asmaa marries Faris under Souad's name to evade his threats. Halima is devastated to see her daughter behind bars for a vice crime. Doha meets with Samir and communicates to him her worries over Ibrahim and Fawzia's relationship.
Samir divorces Fawzia. Latifa recounts her arresting. Mariam gives hope to Azraa for the upcoming hearing, but Azraa is hospitalized after an inmate attacks her. Azraa learns that Halima's daughter is pregnant. Doha tries to win Ibrahim back.
Fawzia denies having any interest in Ibrahim other than their daughter. Azraa tries to escape prison, and she almost succeeds. Mariam tries to find another evidence against Bayoumi.
Fawzia asks Ibrahim to take more care of Doha. Halima collapses when she finds about her daughter’s pregnancy. Azraa asks the inmates to help her escape prison, but they refuse. A fire breaks out at the prison, and Azraa is hurt and rushed into hospital.
Fawzia asks her son to visit Azraa at the hospital, and Ibrahim asks his daughter Hanin the same; when they do visit her, Haneen treats Azraa meanly. Ahmed disguises himself as a doctor and helps Azraa escape from the hospital.
Ahmed takes Fawzia to meet her daughter Azraa who devises a plot to move to the house of one of the prison inmates and start working there. Ibrahim disapproves of Doha's decision to resume her acting career.
Ahmed's mother questions him about his whereabouts and if he knows anything about Azraa. Doha leaves the house and insists to resume her career in acting, but at the filming location, she feels estranged and misplaced. Azraa sets a trap for Eissa.
Doha reflects on her relationship with Ibrahim. Azraa and Ahmed are worried about Shahin's intentions as they discover something that urges them to leave the place. Fawzia tells the grandma that she knows the whereabouts of Azraa.
Mariam finds new evidence and files for a new hearing. Ibrahim confesses to Fawzia that he still has feelings for her. A disguised Azraa visits her grandma, and she manages to escape from the police as they raid the place.
Doha gets mad when she learns of Ibrahim and Fawzia's relationship. Ahmed takes Azraa to a new hideout in disguise. When Fawzia's mother berates him for ruining his relationship with his wife, Ibrahim tells her he solely loves Fawzia.
Doha and Ibrahim quarrel. The doctor tells Ibrahim that Doha's situation is critical. Faris learns that Azraa has a personal agenda as she intends to implicate him to acquit his wife. Ahmed's mother informs the police of Azraa's hiding place.
Ahmed is torn between obeying his mother who wants him to leave Azraa, and helping the latter because he genuinely loves her. Azraa is still trying to set a trap for Khalid. She gets poisoned and Ibrahim reluctantly calls the doctor.
Azraa is sentenced to death, and Fawzia feels guilty for ruining her daughter's life. Doha collapses over Ibrahim's relationship with Fawzia. Mariam suggests they offer Bayoumi's father a sum of money to drop the case against Azraa.
Ibrahim goes on with their plan to pay Bayoumi's son compensation money. Hanin moves to her grandma's place, and when the police raid it, she intervenes and saves the day. Bayoumi's father turns down Ibrahim's proposal.
The mayor advises Khalaf, Bayoumi's father, to accept the money to pay his debts, but it s evident that he intends evil. Azraa gets caught at a checkpoint. Dalia tells Doha's son to keep his mother away from her husband. Khalaf kidnaps Ibrahim.
When they learn of Zamzam's illness, Azraa's family tries to persuade the mother to convince her husband to accept the money. Ahmed is arrested for helping Azraa. The police raid Hanin's house, but Azraa manages to hide.
Azraa visits Ahmed at his mother’s who kicks her out. Saedeya blames Khalaf for Zamzam's illness and asks for a divorce. Yakub tells Azraa that Latifa is schizophrenic. Khalaf finally accepts the money, but unfortunately, Zamzam dies at the hospital.
Fawzia, Ibrahim, and the grandma return to Kuwait and tell Mariam about Zamzam. Doha’s condition worsens and she insists on a divorce. Fawzia visits Doha who gets mad at her. Azraa turns herself in.
Azraa is sentenced to death, and her last wish is to be wed to Ahmed. The couple indeed gets married in a melancholic ceremony where the police wait to take Azraa to the gallows.
Azraa's execution is postponed as it turns out she is pregnant. Azraa gives birth to a baby girl, and the grandma also calls her Azraa. Doha documents all her suffering in a novel that becomes a huge success.
