Sofia is a college student who lives with her parents in Morocco. Her parents decide to dismiss all workers prior to their travel to Canada, but Sofia objects to their decision.

After her parents travel, Sofia lives with her two grandmothers who try to impose their control over the house and over her, the thing that subjects Sofia to her colleagues' mockery and bullying.

Sofia's friends decide to go to a masquerade ball, but lacking a transportation means, Sofia steals her grandmother's car that breaks down on the way to the party, so they leave it and return home on foot.

A new student arrives at Sofia's school, but having a nerdy nature, he becomes subject to his colleagues' constant bullying. They even accuse him of robbery, but Sofia heads to the principal to exculpate him and the two become friends.

The grandmothers still put Sofia in embarrassing situations as they take her sports clothes out of the bag. Meanwhile, they invite the company's manager over for lunch; one grandmother disguises as her daughter and the other pretends to be the cook. The manager signs the sales contract.

Sofia and her friends rehearse for the song they are to sing at the party, but the grandmother prohibits her from going to the party and takes her to school instead. Sofia cannot bear her grandmothers' control, so she calls her parents.

Sofia tries to give the new student a makeover to look 'cool' and she even convinces him to join their band, but neither his parents nor the school principal approves of such a radical change. Areej meets her boyfriend, but they both are arrested.

Belal visits Sofia at home and they study together, but the time they spend with one another makes their striking differences clear. For the first time, Sofia gets a B on a test, and it is learned that she stole Belal's paper and submitted it with her name on it.

Sofia gets out of the house behind her grandmothers' back, and she heads to the servant's house after her grandmother throws her out. Eventually, Sofia reconciles with Belal, and the two grandmothers go to bring Sofia back home.

Sofia admires an artist so much to the extent that she imitates her in everything, and she tells her grandmothers she wants to take part in a fashion show. The grandmothers obviously refuse, but they have an imitation of a fashion show at home and Sofia invites her friends over.

Sofia's grandmother gets angry with her as she stops following the diet. Sofia's friend recommends that she takes fat-burning herbs, but that turns out to be a bad idea as Sofia falls ill. Areej quarrels with her boyfriend and goes to Sofia to vent.

Sophia has several problems at school; the school principal scolds her for her negligence, her results are getting worse, and she quarrels with her colleagues. When she returns home, Sofia finds the company manager flirting with her grandmother.

Areej's parents quarrel consonantly, the thing that significantly disturbs Areej, so she takes refuge at Sofia's house, and the latter's grandmothers visit Areej's mother to solve things between them. Sofia, meanwhile, gets into more trouble as she quarrels with her colleagues at school.

Sofia tells Areej that there's nothing between her and Belal. Nafisa packs her stuff and gets ready to go back to the village upon her siblings' request.

Areej is pregnant, but her boyfriend doesn't have the money necessary for neither the tests nor the abortion that Areej rejects anyway. Belal tells Sofia he loves her.

Areej decides to abort. Sofia is accepted to participate in a fashion show, but she doesn't like the idea of wearing revealing clothes. She makes a grave mistake when she sends a video of herself naked to a man who blackmails her for money.

Areej feels desperate as she decides not to abort, but her boyfriend refuses to marry her and breaks up with her. Everyone is noticing the dull state Areej is entering, but they cannot really help since she refuses to tell them of what's going on. Sofia steals her grandmother's jewelry.

Grandma Nafisa learns that someone has been betraying her and sending her work at the company to her competitor. Fatima loses consciousness at school and the principal learns that she does drugs.

Sofia and her friends decide to go on a trip, but Areej's parents prohibit her from going because she lies to them. Areej tells the social counselor at school that she's pregnant, but she refuses to say who the father is. The manager of the company learns that many of the documents are forged.

Sofia tells Manal about the guy that has been blackmailing her, and Manal meets the man and threatens him. Areej goes to the hospital to have an abortion, and she begs for her mother's forgiveness.

Fatima is caught cheating in the exam, and she gets a 10-days suspension from school. High school ends, and now it's time for students to decide on which field they will major in. Sofia still fancies being a model.

The man leaks the video and almost everyone at school sees it. Sofia quarrels with Fatima and the principal threatens to have Sofia expelled from school. Nafisa learns that her secretary is the traitor who has been sending the work to Zakaria.

The school principal expels Sofia, and Areej tells her that Fatima was behind this whole video thing as she paid the guy to blackmail Sofia. Nafisa heads to the principal and advocates for Sofia. Sofia, meanwhile, is emotionally drained and physically unable to get out of bed.

The secretary plots with Nafisa to set a trap for Zakaria. Sofia, meanwhile, gets out of the hospital and goes back to school where her friends receive her joyously and the principal forgives her.

Nafisa throws a party on the occasion of the success of her work. The school principal attends the party hoping to get closer to Nafisa. Sofia's colleague who has been blackmailing her apologizes to her, but she ignores him altogether.

Areej's mother asks for divorce upon learning that her husband has been cheating on her, and Areej despairs over the matter. Belal's father has a tragic accident and he shortly dies.

Belal wants to leave school and find a job, but the school principal dissuades him from doing such thing and urges him to continue his education. Nafisa earns heaps of money after the trap she manages to set for Zakaria.

Sofia studies for her History exam, but she cannot memorize everything, so upon Nafisa's request, the school principal gives her and her colleagues some references to use. Nawal turns down her boyfriend's marriage proposal because he doesn't want her to work for Sofia.

Sofia falls ill during her exams period, and her grandmothers help her stand on her feet. Areej is getting upset about her parents' endless quarrels.

An anonymous takes care of Belal's school fees, and his friends rejoice at the news. Sofia's parents return from Canada and they thank the grandmothers for taking good care of her, and they decide to take her with them to Canada. Heavy-hearted Sofia says goodbye to her friends.
