Adel and Amina agree to marry after a love story between them. Amina's parents object to their daughter's marriage to Adel due to his extreme poverty. Saeed, Adel's friend, advises him to give up the idea of marriage.

When a suitor proposes to marry Amina, Adel intervenes to spoil the engagement and forces her family to agree to their marriage. Adel and Amina prepare for the wedding.

Adel marries Amina and they go on their honeymoon. Adel decides to invite the company's CEO and his direct manager for lunch, and is surprised that they are very envious of his marital happiness.

As Amina tells her husband, Adel, that she's pregnant, he gets angry because they agreed not to have children for two years. Amina gives birth to her newborn, whom she names Alaa, then her suffering with the child's upbringing begins. Amina gives birth to another child, a girl whom she names Faten.

Adel gets older and his responsibilities towards his family and children increase. He gets a promotion at work, and he consoles Mahfouz after being pensioned off.

Adel grows fond of the secretary, but then remembers his love story with his wife and Saeed's advice for him not to take another wife. Adel has a spat with his wife Amina after he called her with the secretary Amal's name.

Saeed falls ill. He advises Adel to stay away from Amal and return to his wife and children. Amal leaves Egypt and travels to her brother in Saudi Arabia, and Adel returns to his wife Amina.
