The story of the beginning and the rise of the Mamluks reign in Egypt, and how their rise from enslavement to fighting wars to ruling a significant country in the region, had affected the social, political, and military status of the country.
A Mamluk is a young boy who came from every region bordering the Islamic world, especially the Turkic lands, starting the mid-ninth century. Mamluks would be enslaved by a senior military officer and trained until they grew to be an esteemed military force. Their powerfulness extended from the military into the political life, gaining rulership over many territories and defeating many enemies.
