In the French city of Burgundy at the end of 1945, Uncle Jules prepares an unconventional gift for his nephew Louis on the occasion of his fifteenth birthday, as he decides to take him to a brothel in an attempt to help the boy enter manhood. Throughout this experiment, Louis discovers the adult world in all its complexity and cruelty.
