Galal, an employee, loves reading detective stories and aspires to write a film starring the actor Nabil. Meanwhile, Hussein bids farewell to his parents to travel to Alexandria to complete his studies. Mosaad, the hotel servant, becomes involved with Hamida and aspires to marry her.

Laila tries to get her inheritance from her father and asks the lawyer to file a case against her stepmother, Etemad, to demand it from her. Hussein falls in love with Laila, and Mosaad lives in fear after having escaped from a blood feud in his village.

Galal meets Nabil and tells him his story. Nabil agrees to a work contract between them. Hussein supports Laila in her problem with Etemad.

The receptionist Rostom thinks about killing Etemad. Galal goes to the hotel, and a quarrel breaks out between Etemad and Rostom because of Laila's relationship with Hussein.

Rostom tries to kill Etemad while she is asleep, but Galal stops him. Rostom tells him his story with Etemad, his marriage to her, and his abandonment of his son Yahya and his first wife. Mosaad discovers that Etemad is wealthy, while Gaber attempts to raise funds for his business.

Gaber seeks to borrow a large sum of money from his aunt, Etemad, who tells Galal the secret of her serious illness, which she has kept hidden from everyone. Etemad is surprised by a visit from the lawyer Fouad, who demands that she end her guardianship over Laila.

Etemad fights with Hussein, who threatens to kill her. She is stunned to learn he has secretly married Laila. Etemad tries to prevent Tariq from taking revenge on Rostom when she tells him about her marriage to him. Fouad reveals that Etemad owns all of Laila's father's estate.

Etemad faints due to a gas leak. Galal saves her and suspects that Laila is trying to kill her. At the same time, Mosaad tells Galal that he wants revenge on Etemad for her tyranny.

Due to her severe illness, Etemad decides to improve her relationship with everyone. She gives Laila her share in the estate and tries to restore her relationship with Rostom, but his son Yahya convinces him to return to Yahya's mom. Galal is surprised by a visit from the safecracker Biso at the hotel.

Etemad convinces Rostom not to travel with his son and leave her, and when she feels remorse, she agrees with Galal to try to stay away from Rostom for his own benefit.

On Mosaad and Hamida's wedding night, all the hotel guests leave to attend the wedding. Etemad is mysteriously killed, and the police conduct an investigation.

The detective interroagtes Laila and Hussein, suspecting the latter because he had a motive to kill Etemad. Galal is arrested because his fingerprints are found near Etemad's body.

The police find a wristwatch at the crime scene and suspect that it's Hussein's. Gaber gives his statement and confesses to having tried to steal from his aunt Etemad. He suspects that the killer is the thief Biso, but investigations prove otherwise.

The police interrogate Yahya in the murder of Etemad, but Hussein discovers that Mosaad has a twin brother who disappeared during his brother's wedding. He informs the police, who arrest the two, but after their questioning, they turn out to be innocent.

The police discover that Etemad has a son named Tariq, and that Nabil is her first husband who caused her to be imprisoned, so the police interrogate him.

Investigations prove that Nabil killed his ex-wife, Etemad, and Galal is released.
