Sheikh Abdul-Jalil visits his wife who blames him for leaving her. Jubran's wife confronts him with a scorched piece of paper.
Abdul-Jalil wonders why Jubran is not staying up late with him as usual. Jubran pays a surprise visit to a lady who had traveled to Jordan many years ago. Sobhy gets ready for his wedding. Jubran’s wife leaves the house because she is mad but also afraid that he might get back to his old habits.
Omran rejects his sister's groom. Abdul-Jalil is arrested on charges of quackery. Jubran welcomes his arrest but the police chief orders his release. Jubran's sister urges him to find a job which is hard as he is an ex-political prisoner.
Abdul-Jalil wants to be intimate with his wife. He visits Sohaib's mother to ask about Sheikh Qasim who left for Afghanistan after he was besieged in Hamaa. Jubran reconciles with his wife. Suhaib's mother panics reading Qasim’s letter about an impending danger.
Jubran and Sulaf visit her brother’s family, but they are not welcomed due to the harm that they believe she caused them. As their tone abruptly becomes welcoming, Jubran suspects treachery. Jalila’s husband invites Abdul-Jalil to treat her, and Jubran is shocked while the crook feels triumphant.
Jubran’s wife worries about him. Sundos blames her father for ruining her marriage. Jubran asks Rafiq, a member of their political party, to issue a statement about the occupation of Arab countries. Abu-Samer asks Abdul-Jalil to lay low. Jubran stops Sulaf from attending her brother's funeral.
Jubran convenes with the political party members. Sundos kicks Sobhy’s mother out. Azmi resigns from Professor Jawdat’s law firm to work in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Azmi shares his career news with his mother, Jalila, who tells him about his uncle Jubran’s torture in jail.
The police sergeant tells Riyad that Jubran must reveal Sulaf's location, but he insists on hiding it to protect his lover. Omran refuses to have his father's funeral so his mother threatens to inform Abdul-Jalil. Jubran is released and goes to Sulaf not knowing of her arrest.
Fatema's father kicks her brother out after their quarrel. Jubran goes home but his wife asks for a divorce and leaves. Omran holds his father's funeral upon a request from Abdul-Jalil. His wife warns him about Qasim. Abu-Samer investigates Abdul-Jalil's history and Sobhy divorces his bride.
Jalila scolds Omran who refuses to receive her at his father's funeral and Abu-Farouq slaps him when he behaves the same way with him, blaming Abdul-Jalil who mistaught him that religion supports extremism and unemployment.
Jubran asks Abu-Khaled for a job. The police sergeant is promoted and asks Abdul-Jalil to help him find Abu-Farouq's murderer, whom he suspects is Omran. Qasim threatens Abdul-Jalil when he refuses to join his Jihadist plots.
Jubran brings presents for his father-in-law and wife and asks her to start anew for their children's sake, but she insists on a divorce. Sundos's mother gets anxious about their future. Abdul-Jalil rebukes Omran for killing Sundos's father.
Azmi blames Jubran for his lost career at the Foreign Ministry so he promises to fix this issue. Abdul-Jalil is abducted by Samer's parents who blame him for the Sheikh's arrest. Qasim keeps looking for Abdul-Jalil.
Sundos visits Jalila with her mother and is curious about their discussion. Jubran feels isolated and holds on to political resistance with his wife's support and his father's legacy. Abu-Samer asks Abdul-Jalil for help.
Abu-Samer convinces Abdul-Jalil to give up the names of the armed terrorist groups of which he was a member and is released. Jalila wakes up in the hospital and remains there against her will. She is visited by Sundos and her mother. Omran's mother tells him about Abdul-Jalil's release.
Jalila asks Rabah to re-marry after her death to preserve her dignity. Sundos's mother warns her about marrying Rabah and she denies such an intention. Abdul-Jalil asks the resistance group to appoint him as their leader as he has many connections in the government.
Abdul-Jalil asks Omran's mother to check the divorced Halima so he could marry her after her idda (period of waiting). Jubran hosts Jalila, Rabah, and Azmi at his villa, but they leave when Rabi'a acts snobbishly. Rabah complains about his mother to Abdul-Jalil and shares his desire to marry Sundos.
Jalila is furious about Rabah's desire to marry Sundos. The terrorist group vows their loyalty and obedience to Abdul-Jalil as its new leader. Rabi'a encourages Jubran to run for parliament. Jalila dies and Azmi breaks down.
Azmi grieves his mother's loss. Jubran bans Abdul-Jalil from participating in Jalila's burial. Abdul-Jalil leaves presents for Halima at Omran's mother's house. Jubran tells him about running for parliament. Rabah tells Azmi that he is getting married.
Sundos lies about her marriage to Rabah when Farouq bangs on the door of their home and asks her and his mother to leave. Omran's mother is worried about her son's long disappearance. Rabi'a asks to meet Samer's mother to solidify their relations, but she reschedules.
Samer's mother receives Rabi'a and demands her obedience. Sundos goes to Rabah's home. Omran asks for Abdul-Jalil's forgiveness and his mother worries about his long absence. Jubran prepares his campaign and asks Azmi to be strong, but he is at a loss and sleeps in the mosque.
Omran sets Thursday as his sister's wedding date. The neighbors reject Jubran's campaign's forbidden presents, so he tells Abdul-Jalil about his dream of democracy and the latter denies its existence. Jubran and Rabi'a marvel at the people's faith in Abdul-Jalil. Azmi agrees to work with him.
Azmi notices that Rabah is not happy at home. Halima blames herself for her brother's attack on Omran's sister. Abdul-Jalil visits Omran's mother to check on Firyal. Rabi'a's uncle tells Jubran that a project for the poor will aid his campaign more than slogans.
Abdul-Jalil's group is worried about Azmi's growing popularity and independent agenda. The sergeant tells Omran that Abdul-Jalil is the reason Abu-Farouq's case was closed. He needs to reach a settlement with Halima's brother, Hamdy, so she gives up her dowry to Hamdy to get him released.
Abdul-Jalil marries Halima and Omran thanks her for paying his bail. Rabi'a asks Jubran to visit Samer's father, who in turn asks Jubran to forget the past, but he remembers the price of defending their country. Abdul-Jalil advises Azmi to keep his position and be flexible.
Sundos visits Abdul-Jalil, who has feelings for her, to get a check-up. Azmi takes her home, and they quarrel when she implies that he loves her. Azmi leaves home when Sundos suggests the forbidden act of divorcing Rabah to marry him. She asks Rabah for a divorce anyway.
Abdul-Jalil attends Rabi'a's banquet and admires the necklace that Jalila gave her. When she threatens to expose his secrets, he threatens to kill her in return. Sundos returns to her mother’s home and rejects Rabah's request to return to him.
Jubran reconciles with Abdul-Jalil at his party and asks to be business partners again. He is curious about past attacks on their neighborhood, Jalila's stolen gold, her mysterious marriage to Rabah and constant sorrow. Sundos and Azmi sleep together.
Sundos agrees to re-marry Sobhy and the enraged Abdul-Jalil begs Azmi to facilitate his marriage to her at any cost. Rabah is furious that Abdul-Jalil wants to marry Sundos. Jubran is mad at Azmi for being the importer of the smuggled building materials.
Abdul-Jalil divorces Halima and shuts out Omran's mother. Azmi punishes Sobhy for thinking that he consummated his marriage to Sundos. Abdul-Jalil arranges Sobhy's marriage to Omran's sister. Sobhy is later found killed. Rabah visits Sundos who tells him that Azmi is not his son as he is sterile.
Jubran notices Azmi's growing influence. Azmi asks Sundos to marry Abdul-Jalil, but she is silent during the sermon. Azmi learns that Rabah is not his father, and the latter loses his mind. Rabi'a tells Jubran about Abdul-Jalil's history and the latter escapes to Algeria. Azmi runs away.
