When Nour meets Mustafa to discuss a case that is being investigated, he reveals that he has feelings for her. When Nour returns home, she receives a message from her mother telling her to return to Cairo because her sister Farida disappeared and no one knows her whereabouts.
Nour sees her sister's children who know nothing about her except that she traveled. Nour meets Omar in the elevator. Omar misses his children who live with their mother. Mustafa asks Nour to follow him to London. Farida's mother asks Omar to drop the custody case.
Nour looks for Fraida and feels that someone is watching the house. Hassan looks for information about Farida. Omar insists on taking his children to Alexandria, but Nour refuses. She recalls when her sister admitted one day that she was pregnant and that it was Nour's fiancé's baby.
When a body is found, they suspect that it might be Farida. Nour recalls her memories with her sister. She and her nephews accept a dinner invitation from her ex-fiancé and brother-in-law. Hassan tries to identify the dead body and takes Nour and Omar who realize that it’s Farida.
Nour breaks down after her sister’s death and recalls the fight they had after Farida betrayed her. Nour speaks to Hassan and asks him to tell her the exact location they found her sister’s body so that she could visit. She then decides to tell Farida’s daughter about her mother’s death.
Farida’s children break down after they learn of her death. Nour’s mother starts to suspect that something is wrong with Farida. Nour insists on seeing Farida’s car, where she finds the name of a hypnosis doctor and considers going to him. Mustafa comes back to Cairo to console Nour.
Omar tries to console his kids. Farida’s mother is dazed and talks with Farida as if she is alive. Nour dreams of Farida and decides to visit Dr. Khaled. Mustafa goes to Nour’s house and gets along with Farida’s kids. Hassan is mad at his wife for neglecting her health.
Omar tells Nour how sad he is despite all the problems he and Farida had. Hasan asks Nour to come to the precinct to see the forensic results. When she and Omar rush over there, they learn that Farida was hit on the head before she was thrown in the Nile.
Nour’s overwhelmed by the kids as Mustafa tells her that he must fly back to London. Omar’s requested for a deposition where he mentions the problems he had with Farida. Since he doesn’t tell them that he was in Cairo on the night of the murder, Nour makes him back to give the deposition again.
Omar gets arrested and requests that Nour defends him, but she refuses. As the family is questioned, the mother recounts Farida's constant fights with Omar and Karim mentions her multiple relationships. A neighbor remembers seeing Farida fight with a guy.
Nour finds out that the person watching the house was one of Farida’s art students, Seif. Omar becomes the prime suspect. Hassan and Nour meet a woman that fought with Farida before over Seif, accusing her of stealing him from her, which caused Farida’s dismissal from the art studio.
When her mother forgets her address and loses her way, Nour searches for her everywhere and takes her to a doctor. Farida haunts Nour’s dreams. Farida’s therapist gives his deposition, as does Seif’s ex-fiancée, who says Farida ruined their relationship by getting Seif to beat her and kick her out.
A flashback reveals Farida trying to ask Nour’s forgiveness after she stole her fiancé. When Seif scares Nour at the house, she hits him and calls the police who arrest him, but he requests to meet Nour to tell her something important.
Omar gets released and asks his kids to accompany him to Alexandria. He is enraged when he finds the kids so fond of Mustafa when he returns from London. He later tells Nour that he still has feelings for her, and Karma sees them. Nour rejects him, saying that she only cares about the kids.
Omar's fiancée, Salma, is upset with him for neglecting their wedding plans. Nour shares her troubles with the kids with Mustafa, who advises her to speak openly with them. Karma accuses Nour of having an affair with her father. They reconcile when Nour assures her that she only cares about them.
Nour thinks that Farida could still be alive and that they misidentified the corpse. Seif confirms she's still alive when interrogated by the police. Nour tries to fix the children’s problems and get close to them.
Salma learns from Zein that Karim’s the one who sent her the message to warn her about Omar's feelings for Nour. Omar speaks with Nour about his feelings again, and she get infuriated and drives off. She thinks she saw Farida and runs after her. Salma has a fight with Nour and breaks up with Omar.
When Seif is charged with killing Farida, he says that he loved her, and Omar was the one abusing her. Omar tells his children and Nour that he broke up with Salma. Nour’s mom warns her about him fooling her once more.
After Seif attacks Rabab at the precinct, Hasaan tells Nour that Rabab had nothing to do with Farida’s death. When Nour asks Omar about his beating of Farida at the bar, he says that she was wasted and got arrested at a police checkpoint. Nour tells the therapist that she’s haunted by Farida.
Nour recalls her stepdad's attempt to rape her and Farida's entry. Mustafa is upset after seeing Nour and Omar together. Omar tells Nour that he’s jealous of Mustafa. Nour finds torn photos of her and Omar in the basement.
Mustafa accompanies Nour to the pier where she shows a boatman a photo of Farida. The boatman, Rabie'e, recognizes her since he ferried her to her private apartment a number of times. Nour’s mom fears for her life and asks her to leave for London with Mustafa.
After Omar sees Karma with Zein, Nour reproaches him for yelling at her. One of the boatmen recognizes Omar’s photo and says that he came to him late at night once, asking to go to Farida’s place. An arrest warrant is issued for Omar, which upsets Nour who defends Omar to Haasan.
Nour gets upset when Karma tells her that Omar’s in love with her. Omar's fingerprints do not match the ones found by the police. Nour takes Mustafa back to the studio and they visit Khaled whom Farida had feelings for. Nour recalls that Farida once told her she did something wrong with Gamal.
Mustafa tells Nour’s mom that he has a bad feeling about Omar. Nour visits Omar in prison and assures him that he’s going to be cleared. When Yousef hurts his head, Nour finds out his blood type at the hospital, which proves that Omar’s not his father.
Gamal recalls how he tried to help Farida keep the kids and how she later told him Yousef is his son. Omar tells Nour not to tell Yousef anything. Mustafa learns from Salma that Omar and Farida were seeing each other before she died. A mysterious car follows the kids.
Nour falls apart when Omar admits that he and Farida were together. Nour steals a glass from Gamal’s home for prints after she finds a check from him to Farida. Omar gets attacked in jail. Mustafa goes back to London and plans to run a DNA test for Yousef.
Nour suspects that Gamal’s the killer and tells Hassan. Omar hits Karma when she accuses him of murdering her mother. Mustafa shows Gamal’s photo to the boatmen and tells Omar that Gamal’s the killer when he visits him. Shahira tells Nour of her legal issues with Gamal
Omar's trial becomes a media circus. Nour calls the boatman who recognizes Gamal as the one who visited Farida’s place on the island, but Gama denies it. Nour requests a private hearing to reveal to court that Gamal is Yousef’s father, and asks for Shahira’s testimony.
Nour requests Omar’s release when Gamal’s ex-wife says that he’s the killer. Omar refuses to disclaim Yousef as his son. Omar proposes to Nour. When Nour gets hold of Farida’s laptop, she finds a voice recording where Omar admits to accidentally killing a patient, and Farida threatens to expose him.
Nour replays the recording to Omar on the island and accuses him of killing Farida, which he denies and says that he did push her into a tree but she didn't die. It's revealed that Shahira witnessed the fight between Farida and Omar, and that she pushed Farida into the Nile.
