With a new mysterious disease on the horizon, the government's attempt to find a cure centers on testing it on human subjects. An FBI agent is tasked to bring in one of those subjects: a 10-year-old girl who makes him question his loyalties.

As the injured Brad and Amy try to evade their pursuers, the former enlists the help of an old friend. When a plan to expose the truth of Project Noah forms, Dr. Lear wrestles with the ethics of their human trials. Anthony Carter deals with the result of being injected with the virus.

With Amy being subjected to the virus, Brad tries to figure out a way to escape Project Noah. Lila puts the plan to expose the truth into effect. Shauna uses the powers the virus gave her to save her own life.

Carter's past is revealed as Dr. Fanning forces him to relive his trauma. Shauna informs Amy about the Virals. Brad tries to diffuse a tense situation before it ends in a shootout.

Amy and Brad get an unexpected ally to aid their escape. Project Noah is endangered when the Virals attempt to escape. The consequences of Dr. Lear's actions strike the person closest to him.

With a Viral on the loose, the task force of Project Noah goes on a manhunt to eliminate the threat. Dr. Lear and Dr. Sykes try to find a counterbalance to the strain of the virus that Fanning is using on his test subjects. Fanning's foul plans to control Virals continue, endangering Amy's life.

A change of management shakes up Project Noah. Elizabeth Lear's condition goes downhill, depriving Fanning of a new member. Brad and Lila face a haunting past trauma. Amy gets ready to face off against Fanning.

With the clock racing against them as Amy gets close to turning, Lila and Dr. Sykes try to find a cure. Carter tries to protect Amy from the scheming Fanning.

With the Virals close to being unleashed on unsuspecting humans, Brad risks his life to save the cure. Amy is forced to make a choice between humanity and those she cares about.

As the world combats an outbreak, Jonas resorts to desperate measures to ensure the validity of the cure. Brad and Lila's attempt to carve a blissful isolated life with Amy is thrown off-course by an apocalyptic event.
