In the wake of her husband's death, Alison is left reeling when another woman arrives ahead of the funeral, claiming to also be his wife. As she tries to protect her sons from the truth, Alison comes to discover the extent of her husband's lies.

As Alison digs into her husband's past while he was in service, she discovers that his lies weren't just about his personal life. Karim advises Alison to let the truth rest with Alexander.

As Alison learns that her son is aware of some of his father's lies, her trust in her late husband suffers another hit when his former boss at MI6 claims that he stopped working for them long before many of his purported missions.
