Hajj Kazem Bahlawan is a well-known rice merchant who only deals in Iranian rice, supporting domestic production and Iranian farmers. His hostility toward foreign rice only increases the resentment of brokers and rice smugglers. The rice smugglers then neglect one of his sons, Nasser, to exploit his father's trade, leading to a variety of events.
