Ezzahi distributes election pamphlets to the residents in his district so that they vote for him, whereas his wife Saadia, and his brother Lasaad, don’t like the idea of him being a politician. As Ezzahi runs for minister, his daughter rejoices, and his family comes from the farm to celebrate.
Ezzahi takes over the Ministry of Culture, and discovers many abuses, such as weekly unjustifiable leaves, as well as theft of public money; His brother suggests that he hires young college graduates he knows at the ministry as workers.
Saadia asks her husband to get a second car for her and her daughter, and bodyguards for him and the family, but he refuses. When his daughter receives a threatening message from ISIS, Lasaad asks the workers to guard the house.
Mr. El Fadel goes to Ezzahi in the ministry to get a license for his project, since he is his relative, whereas his driver uses the ministry's car for personal purposes, and his neighbor requests that he intercede for her with Lotfi Bouchnak to sing at her daughter's wedding for free.
An MP goes to meet Ezzahi in his office and asks him to hire his nephew, but he refuses and throws him out, so the MP quarrels with him; meanwhile, the workers in Ezzahi’s house ask for a raise and more food and refuse to work.
The employees stage a sit-in in front of the ministry, and a spokesman from the union goes to meet the minister and asks him to raise wages, while the workers at home ask him to establish a public library in every district, and his young, unemployed neighbors demand jobs.
Saadia asks her husband to agree to support a civil society organization that she wants to establish, but he refuses, while someone from the Inquisition Society goes to photograph the minister's house and finds that he is about to build a second floor.
Ezzahi is visited in the office by his cousin, El Sadiq, who’s known to have an evil eye, and whenever he looks at something, it breaks or falls; he even caused the secretary's fiancé to get into an accident; and when he goes to his house and expresses how much he likes the TV, it burns.
When two obscure artists go to the minister to help them participate in the Carthage Festival, he refuses, while Lasaad takes money from a folk singer to intercede for him with the minister, upon which he sings in Carthage.
The Ministry of Culture announces a test to hire some youths in vacant jobs, whereupon the driver asks Ezzahi to hire his nephew, and Ezzahi's daughter takes the test and passes it.
When Ezzahi doesn’t return home, his family and the police look for him. The officer interrogates the staff in the office, as well as his personal driver until they find him returning home in a dire state.
When a representative from the Chinese Ministry of Culture visits Ezzahi, he can’t deal with him, as he doesn’t understand Chinese, yet he is invited to visit China, so his daughter teaches him the Chinese language and culture.
A director asks Ezzahi to pass his film in exchange for making his daughter the star of one of his films, but he refuses. Saadia shoots a short film about her life with Ezzahi, which angers him, as she reveals many scandals.
Lasaad runs a campaign for his party in which the workers participate, abandoning work. Ezzahi is invited by the Anti-Corruption Committee as a guest on a TV show, where he announces that he has left the party due to its leader’s corruption and exploitation of the workers.
When an employee tries to get Ezzahi in trouble by ratting on him to the Prime Minister, the latter tells him that he has become his deputy in addition to his position as the minister of culture, so the employee faints out of shock.
