As they don't have anything interesting to say about their relationship, Jimmy and Gretchen make up fake stories to potential wedding planners.

Instead of having a traditional wedding ceremony, Jimmy and Gretchen decide to do it at the Courthouse. But they later change their mind after they miss their appointment.

Jimmy tries to help Gretchen out with her huge credit card debt. Gretchen doesn't know how to tell her mother about the wedding, and she hires Lindsay as her assistant at work.

After selling his screenplay for a large sum of money, Jimmy wonders what he will do with the money. When Becca and Vernon find out, they ask him for money.

Jimmy tries to prove to himself that just because he's about to get married, it doesn't mean that he has lost his edge. Lindsay and Edgar's attempt to make their relationship work, but it doesn't go well.

Jimmy proposes that he and Gretchen could have a week of "no-strings-attached" sex, but she's too busy at work to even consider it.

Jimmy and Gretchen befriend another couple, Rachel and Quinn, and they bond with them. But things get awkward after Jimmy and Quinn end up doing a crazy thing.

When Becca and Vernon spend the weekend with Paul at his friend's mansion, chaos ensues as many unwelcomed secrets are revealed and unexpected developments happen.

As Edgar and Lindsay throw a bachelor and bachelorette party for Jimmy and Gretchen, new secrets are revealed, and the group pulls off a prank on them.

Gretchen's stress about an upcoming event she's organizing at work makes her react impulsively. Jimmy and Edgar are working together on the screenplay. Jimmy doesn't know how to confront Gretchen about her medical issue.

As things start to fall apart for Gretchen and Jimmy at their respective jobs, they try to keep it a secret from each other. But when Gretchen confesses the truth to Jimmy, he tries to be supportive.

As the wedding day approaches, Edgar takes Jimmy for a wild best-man day, while Lindsay gets Gretchen dolled up. Gretchen and her mother clash with each other.

As their big day is upon them, Jimmy and Gretchen begin to question their true feelings, and the rest of the group make their own life decisions.
