Adel tells his father, Sherif, about developing a new project. Mamdouh looks forward to getting engaged to his neighbor Nahid after graduating from medical school. Raeefa tries to convince her husband, Sabri, to partner with her daughter Souad’s husband on his new project.

Souad rejects her mother's request to let her father partner up with her husband, Adel, and Ziad seeks to come between Nahid and Mamdouh because of his love for her.

Sherif officially asks for Nahid's hand in marriage for his son Mamdouh. Adel prepares to travel on a business trip. Raeefa tries to pressure her husband Sabri to partner up with Adel.

While Adel is returning from his trip, he gets into a car accident and dies. Raeefa asks her daughter Souad to return to her father’s house.

Sherif tries to convince his son Mamdouh to marry his brother's widow so that her mother will not force her to marry her sister's son.

Nahid is shocked by her father's request to break off her engagement to Mamdouh so that he can marry Souad, his brother's widow.

Mamdouh agrees to marry Souad, and her mother tries to interfere in her new life and asks her to claim her inheritance from her first husband, Adel.

Sherif confronts his son Mamdouh about his platonic relationship with Souad and asks him to have children with her. Ziad tries to woo Nahid and get close to her.

Souad becomes jealous of the resumption of Mamdouh's relationship with Nahid, and Souad's mother insists on the transferring of ownership of the house to her daughter to guarantee her share in the inheritance.

Things become tense between Souad and Mamdouh because of her mother, Raeefa, and the latter reveals to Souad Saleh’s partnership with Sherif with the aim of having Mamdouh return to Nahid.

Raeefa accuses Hoda of seizing her brother Adel's money before his death, and Souad discovers that she is pregnant by Mamdouh.

Souad insists on Mamdouh severing his relationship with Nahid, and Souad heeds her mother’s words about the necessity of transferring ownership of the house to her.

Sabri quarrels with Saleh and asks him to keep his daughter Nahid away from Mamdouh, and Souad gives birth to her child and names him Adel.
