In a land populated by anthropomorphic frogs and peculiar creatures, a terrifying beast is coming, but the 'beast' turns out to be a human child, Anne. Sprig tries to catch her to prove he can take responsibility, but they become friends and he tries to help her with her homesickness.
When Anne mistakenly breaks Hop Pop's favorite cane, she and her friends embark on a journey to either fix or replace it. As a leak floods Anne's room, she bunks with Sprig, only to realize that the two can never be roommates.
Anne takes the family on a quest to make pizza so that she can win a village cooking contest and avoid the Shame Vage. Meanwhile, Sprig plots for Anne and Hop Pop to go together on a stakeout, in an attempt to help prevent a family breakdown and help the two to get along.
When Anne comes across a caterpillar that reminds her of her pet cat, she gives it the name Domino 2 and decides to keep it, much to Hop Pop's annoyance. Later on, as Anne's phone battery dies, the family goes on a quest to recharge the phone, revealing secrets along their journey.
When Anne wants to ride Bessie, the family snail, Hop Pop stipulates that she reads Bessie's history beforehand. However, she and Sprig go on a fun ride without doing so. Anne has a an acne breakout, leaving the townspeople to believe that she has become a celebrity.
Sprig decides to topple Hop Pop because he doesn't like how the Plantar farm is being run. But Sprig soon falls susceptible to power madness. Anne wants to give Polly some girl time, but as Anne receives a threatening message, Polly abandons her and Anne chastises her.
Anne and Hop Pop try to set Sprig and Ivy Sundew up when they discover that Spring actually has a crush on Ivy Sundew. In an attempt to get along with the Plantars, Anne pretends to love camping, but it turns out to be a huge disaster when the truth is revealed and a filthy battle is fought.
On a rainy day, Anne feigns sickness to evade doing the outdoor work that Hop Pop assigned her. However, things go wrong when the rest of the family gets sick. Sprig and Polly are surprised when they uncover family secrets, as the family gets into many puzzles, riddles, and traps.
Stumpy is upset after he hires Anne in his restaurant, but she turns it into a Thai restaurant and helps him with his issue with Duckweed. When Hop Pop struggles with taxes, Anne suggests that he must sell Plantar's Potions. But when Hop Pop grows greedy, he lands the townspeople in peril.
In order to gain respect in Wartwood, Anne wants to befriend toad soldiers, who are mere bullies, but she must choose between being with her new friends or saving her family. Toad Tower is attacked by a pair of terrifying herons, and the prisoner Sasha shows magnificent fighting skills.
During Grubhog Day, Hop Pop wants to regain their family pride, landing Sprig in a dilemma as he must decide whether to stick to his responsibilities or enjoy the carnival. Meanwhile, Hop Pop runs into an old crush, Sylvia Sundew, and asks Anne to teach him to dance in order to impress Sylvia.
When Mayor Toadstool reports that the acting group got eaten before reaching Wartwood, Anne decides to use her phone and a screen to show a romantic movie in the whole town. Depressed after losing his stand and going to many interviews, Hop Pop decides to run for mayor.
Sprig and Anne work together to find the thief who stole Sprig's newly-found Blue Moon Shell. When they attempt to find Anne's way back home, the Plantars get trapped in the archives.
When the whole town of frogs gets into hibernation on Hiber Day, Anne promises to protect them. Sprig digs up a secret from Mrs. Croaker's past, mistakenly causing deadly troubles for her.
After the Plantars stay at an inn for a night, Polly discovers something alarming about the caretakers. No one believes Anne when she tells them she saw the Moss Man. Enraged, Anne decides to find the Moss Man to prove the validity of her story.
As Sprig tries to get closer to Hop Pop on a hunting trip, he is both shocked and jealous when Hop Pop's girlfriend, Sylvia, arrives. Meanwhile, as Sprig finds an egg that leads him to the Bizarre Bazaar, Anne goes along with him in an attempt to find answers about her music box.
As Anne helps Sprig break up with Maddie through a note, strange occurrences take place as a curse befalls and metamorphoses them. Meanwhile, when a talent show arrives at Wartwood, similar to the one on Earth, Hop Pop trains Spring to take part.
On Harvest Day, and in order to win the town's annual Bugball game, Anne must first learn the value of teamwork as she joins the farmers against the townies. When Anne, Sprig, and Polly have to stay at a daycare center, they discover something unexpected.
When the kids break Hop Pop's replica ship called The Green Lady, he goes to the wood-smith to fix it, and an apothecary gives him a potion to discipline the kids. Additionally, Anne earns the title Frog of the Year, and she plans for a huge party in celebration.
Anne is reunited with an old friend Sasha during a banquet hosted by the toads. However, the reunion soon turns into something else when Sasha has all the frogs imprisoned and Anne stands up to her. Anne loses Sasha, but she still has the Plantars as her family and best friends.
