A clinical psychologist joins a priest in investigating strange occurrences and alleged demonic possessions to see if there's a scientific explanation behind them.
In the second season, the team is involved in several extremely difficult cases, from a mysterious man who claims to be able to hear an angel, to a girl named Matilda whose body is allegedly possessed by an evil force.
In this season, David and Kristen's relationship grows, and the team is tasked with solving cases involving odd occurrences, like investigating a device that weighs a person's soul as they die, a picture on the Internet that makes teenagers act strangely, and researching a demonic phone app.
As Leland tries to persuade Kristen to raise the baby antichrist, the Entity sets out to confront the Sixty. On the other hand, Kristen, David, and Ben continue to assess the problems of rogue technology.
