Elliot and Mr. Robot return just in time for the holidays. Tyrell is bored, Darlene is dealing with serious problems, and Dom's paranoia is developing.

Elliott and Darlene make up again, and Price provides Elliot with some background information. When Dom ends the interview, Janice becomes suspicious due to her lack of confidence. Elliot and Mr. Robot learn about a few unforeseen risks.

With Elliot's latest trick, he manages to express his feelings. Meanwhile, Elliot and Darlene argue, and Vera plots what to do next. A few significant events in Whiterose's life are presented through flashbacks.

Tyrell, Elliot, and Mr. Robot embark on a dangerous woodland adventure. Darlene manages her emotions after having to drive a drunken Santa home. Elsewhere, Dom experiences a bad dream.

Dom has a difficult Christmas. Posing as employees, Elliot and Darlene break into Virtual Realty, the business that maintains the servers for Cyprus National Bank. Krista gets ready for the evening.

Olivia gets blackmailed by Elliot to make a crucial phone call. Dom finds it difficult to comply with orders that cause her distress. Meanwhile, Vera extracts information from Krista, and Whiterose requests that Elliot be taken straight to her.

In an attempt to coerce Elliot into joining him by comprehending Mr. Robot, Vera kidnaps Krista. Elliot discovers a startling reality.

Janice attempts to approach Dom and Darlene to find out where Elliot is. Elliot visits the museum located at Queens.

While Elliot continues to be unstable, Price spars with Whiterose, who tries to control Elliot. Mr. Robot tries to figure out how to help Elliot discover himself, and he and Darlene seek to overthrow the Deus group.

In an attempt to protect herself and Elliot from the Dark Army, Darlene tries to convince Dominique to flee New York with her.

In order to put an end to things, Elliot visits the Washington Township power plant after reaching his breaking point.

After the explosion at the now-gone Washington Township facility, Elliot awakens in an abandoned lot.

When Elliot arrives at Coney Island, the illusion starts to fade. Mr. Robot divulges the reality.
