In 1795, John Beecham reaches Delhi, where he stays in a mansion and decides to forget about the past. Later, as his mother arrives with a woman she wants him to marry, she is taken aback by the fact that he has a mixed-race baby.

After John finds out that his brother, Daniel, is in the country, a mysterious lady named Chandrika arrives in the mansion, causing mayhem.

John tries to win the favor of the Empress in order to get his trading license, but things take an unexpected turn as a murder takes place.

Chandrika's late-night visit to John in his room raises questions about the nature of their relationship, while news of said visit reaches Henrietta.

News of Margaret's departure from Delhi reaches and upsets John; however, he is unable to take action as a twist of fate turns his world upside down.

Locked for days in his cell, John figures out who double-crossed him. Meanwhile, Margaret, Chandrika, and his brother seek to prove his innocence, but it's only up to the Emperor to release him.
