The lives of Kevin and Kiesha are changed by a wedding, while Emmett struggles to balance his business and his family. Trig, Jake's brother, returns with a goal in mind.

Kevin seeks Papa and Jake's help, while Trig comes up with a plan to take Jake from Douda. Emmett hits on a temporary solution for the shortage of food.

The state of the Williams worsens. As Emmett tries to launch his new business, he and Tiff try to move in with Jada. Ronnie is reminded that his past actions are far from being forgotten.

Emmett feels clobbered by his dad as well as by self-doubt. As Ronnie tries to redeem himself, he stumbles upon a new sense of purpose. The competition between Douda and Camille Halloway in the mayoral elections intensifies.

Trig is paid a surprise visit that might undermine his endeavors to win custody of Jake. Ronnie is held back by his past. Kevin embarks with his friends on an adventure that is fraught with danger.

A downcast Kevin finds it hard to celebrate his birthday. Ronnie helps his grandmother revisit past memories. Douda's electoral campaign suffers another setback.

Landlord Zeke helps out Emmett and Dom. Ronnie suffers a loss that leaves him in a state of despair. Kiesha decides not to stand helplessly by. The elections force Douda to clash with Camille.

Emmett and Jada lend the Williams a helping hand. Meanwhile, Kiesha fights her own demons, and Nina, Dre, and Kevin think of the future. Ronnie seeks forgiveness for his former wrongdoings.

While Ronnie's church community applauds his attempts at change, some people don't want to let his former wrongdoings pass. Kevin grapples with many responsibilities. With their grand opening approaching, Dom and Emmett make preparations.

Emmett and Tiff make a decision regarding their future. Ronnie's pursuit of redemption is finally rewarded. Trig makes one final move against Douda. Kevin, Jake and Papa have responsibility thrust upon them.
