When Diane's husband is accused of treason, she asks King Francis to pardon him, and a rumor spreads that she has offered herself in return, so her husband leaves her. Francis asks Diane to teach Prince Henri how to become a gentleman, but she falls in love with him and becomes his mistress, which makes his wife Catherine her enemy.
