When Anbar gives birth to her fourth daughter, she asks her maid Habika to switch the girl with a boy. Habika switches the girl with Aisha's son. As the boy, Al-Ghaly, grows up, his father prefers him to his sisters. The girl, Yakout, grows up and looks for a job after she graduates.
Anbar recalls how she had Habika pay the husband of the woman whose son she took. When Al-Ghaly doesn't return home, his father grows concerned as his mother looks for him at his friends' houses. Yakout fights with her brother after he steals her phone.
It's revealed that Al-Ghaly got in a car accident and called his sister to help him because he was afraid of his father's reaction. Yakout runs into Al-Ghaly as he tries to save her deaf friend from a passer by.
Al-Ghaly admires Yakout and asks to see her again. Yakout quarrels with her brother and kicks him out of the house. When Anbar's father visits the family, Anbar expresses regret for what she did and tells him that she wants to see her daughter, whom she gave to Aisha.
The Hajj's daughter gets ill and is admitted to the hospital. As Al-Ghaly quarrels with Yakout's brother, the police intervene.
As Al-Ghaly takes Yakout for a walk on the beach. Nabila's husband beats her during a fight.
As Anbar meets Aisha, she asks about her daughter's whereabouts, but Aisha refuses to help her. Nagat's husband continues to have problems with his ex-wife and son.
When Yakout takes Al-Ghaly home and introduces him to her mother, her mother is so shocked to see him. Anbar tries to convince her daughter to return home with her.
When Yakout meets Al-Ghaly's family, Anbar confirms that she is her daughter, but is unable to tell her. Hamouda assaults his mother Aisha and flees.
Anbar tries to get Al-Ghaly away from Yakout. Nouriya tells her sisters that she is involved with someone and wants to marry him, though their mother opposes her wishes.
Anbar tells Al-Ghaly that he is going to marry Ghaita even if he doesn't want to. Ghaita invites Yakout to the engagement party, much to Yakout's devastation. Nabila's husband wants to adopt a child.
As Ghaita tells her father that Al-Ghaly assaulted her, her father puts a rush on their marriage. Yakout leaves Al-Ghaly when she finds out. Zeinab goes to the doctor to seek treatment for her childbearing problem.
Yakout locks up her brother Hamouda to help him get over his addiction. Anbar prepares for Al-Ghaly's wedding.
After his marriage to Ghaita, Al-Ghaly tells his sister that he is still in love with Yakout. Yakout's manager, Ahmed, confesses his love for her and his intention to divorce his wife so that he could marry Yakout.
When the Hajj quarrels with Anbar's father, the latter has a heart attack and dies. Ghaita discovers that Al-Ghaly is preparing for emigration.
Nagat weds Dr. Alaa, who is her sister Nabila's beloved. When Anbar discovers that Ahmed has another wife called Gamila, she asks for a divorce. Anbar tries to find Aisha, who has moved out of her house.
Hamouda recovers from his addiction and reunites with his family. Al-Ghaly wants to buy Ghaita's share of the factory, but his mother refuses to supply him with the money. When he asks for his share of his grandfather's inheritance, Anbar informs him that he only left him the house.
Yakout asks one of the company's employees to testify that her manager tried to sexually harass her. Anbar tells Aisha that her father left half of his fortune to Yakout. Al-Ghaly tells Al-Nasser that he doesn't love his daughter, Ghaita, and wants to divorce her.
It's revealed that Habika knew about Ahmed's marriage to Gamila, but Gamila threatened to reveal the truth about the baby switch to force her into silence. Al-Ghaly meets Yakout, who started working as a garbage woman, and confesses his love for her.
Al-Nasser blackmails Anbar and tells her that he will reveal that Al-Ghaly is not Ahmed's son if she doesn't give him half her fortune. Gamila threatens to reveal the baby swap if Anbar doesn't help her reconcile with Ahmed.
With Hamouda's help, Anbar and Aisha hold Al-Nasser captive to keep the truth from coming out. Habika comes clean to Ahmed about the baby swap.
Due to the shock of the baby swap reveal, Ahmed is rushed to the hospital. Anbar tries to impede Yakout and Al-Ghaly's marriage out of fear that they might be milk-siblings, a fear Aisha alleviates when she reveals she didn't breastfeed Yakout. Hamouda relapses and starts using drugs again.
Nagat gives birth, but her baby needs to stay in the hospital. Anbar prevents Ahmed from telling Al-Ghaly and Yakout the truth. Hamouda tries to get close to Ghaita.
Yakout quits her job as a cleaning woman. Yakout is devastated when Hamouda reveals that she is Anbar's daughter. Nabila tries to run away from her husband after she discovers that he lied about being paralyzed.
Yakout leaves the house after finding out the truth. Anbar goes to Al-Ghaly who informs her of Nabila's bad condition.
Yakout's father tries to convince her to forgive her mother. Hamouda asks for Ghaita's hand in marriage, but Al-Nasser refuses. Nabila leaves her husband, who takes their children away from her.
As Anbar falls ill, she admits to her daughters Nagat and Nouriya that Yakout is their sister whom she swapped with Al-Ghaly, and the two sisters are in utter shock.
When Al-Ghaly discovers the truth, he blames his father for not taking a stand against Anbar. Yakout works with her father and stops asking after Al-Ghaly. The Hajj divorces his second wife. Nabila's husband proposes to Nouriya.
Anbar reconciles with Al-Ghaly who forgives her. Yakout moves in with her biological family, much to Nouriya and Nagat's happiness. Yakout and her friend plot to implicate the human resources manager at her old company in a sexual harrassment case.
Yakout reconciles with Anbar as Al-Ghaly reconciles with Aisha. Ahmed throws a big wedding for Al-Ghaly and Yakout. Fawzy gets paralyzed.
