When aliens attack Earth, a band of survivors must unite to defend one another and save the planet from intergalactic invasion.
In this season, it is revealed that the Skitters are being controlled by the invaders, but they try to resist the influences and revolt against the Overlords.
Taking place seven months after the arrival of 2nd Mass in Charleston, the resistance is still battling the alien invaders, while the Volm encourages Tom to destroy a power source for Espheni weapons.
As they look for safety, the Masons and the 2nd Mass face another attack by the Espheni, with consequences that threaten their chances of survival.
Tom's life becomes in danger as he sets out on his journey through space, on the other hand the 2nd Massachusetts unit continues the attack against the Espheni.
