After believing that his sister died, the Parisian Antoine Habert's life is turned upside down when he thinks he saw her on a news report coming from Syria.

Antoine is held as an ISIS poisoner and questioned by a YPJ officer when he arrives at the Kurdish base.

As Antoine joins YPJ and goes on a mission to blast a bridge, they get attacked by ISIS troops.

In a Kurdish village, Antoine, Sarya, and the volunteers settle, then they all prepare themselves when they learn that ISIS is planning an attack.

As Antoine decides to go back home when he finally accepts Anna's death, he finds the region is taken by ISIS.

In a chronological exploration of Anna's story, she cuts ties with her family in Paris and moves to Cairo, where she works as an archeologist.

As Antoine cannot leave Syria after witnessing all the brutality, he decides to fight with the Kurds. Meanwhile, Antoine sees a familiar face at the base.

Antoine, Sarya, and a small force head for a meeting point, while the ISIS troops flock to the area of the assassination.
