Assim is promoted and becomes the director of the division, which gladdens his fiancée, Shaima. Fadel tries to feel out Assim and offers examination treatment in return for giving him a bribe, which Assim refuses.

Habiba influences Shaima by her talk about the need for her to live independently in her own house, so Shaima tells Assim that she hopes to get married and live in a place of their own, and Shaima meets her friend Nahla after having not seen her in years.

Shaima acquiesces to Assim's desire to live in his parents' house, and the wedding takes place amidst everyone's joy. Shaima feels inferior compared to her friend, Nahla.

Problems begin at home between Shaima and her mother-in-law, and Nahla plans with her husband to force Assim to work with them in fraud.

Problems abound in the house, so Shaima goes to lunch at the house of her friend Nahla, who tries to find a way to learn the secrets of Assim's work, while Habiba tells Shaima's father that his daughter is unhappy.

Abu Ghayeb asks for Raghda's hand in marriage, and her father asks for time to think. Shaima is trying to borrow money from her aunt and father for the rent. Even Assim is looking for someone to lend him money and refuses to take any bribe at work.

Nuri offers a sum of money to Assim to keep without asking him for any favors related to the tender.

Nahla's uncle calls her to blackmail her, and she tries to evade him, while she finds an expensive apartment for Shaima to rent. Assim's mother thinks that Habiba is using her son financially.

Shaima gives birth to two children, and Assim's debts increase. Fawzi confesses his love to Raghda and asks her to leave Abu Ghayeb.

Assim goes to a party thrown by Nuri and his wife, but he gets angry and quarrels with Nuri, whereupon he is taken to the hospital, after which his mother offers him an amount of money so that he can pay off his debts, but he refuses.

Assim recovers and gets discharged from the hospital. Nahla records a confession by her husband, Nuri, that incriminates him, then she hands it over to the police, upon which he and Fadel get arrested.
