As Hayat prepares to celebrate a special anniversary with her husband Ahmed, she calls her daughter Dalia and her husband Mustafa, inviting them over for dinner. When Hayat wakes up suddenly and overhears her husband Ahmed talking to his mistress, she bursts into tears.
When Hayat searches Ahmed's safe, she finds a chain with the name of Farida, his mistress. Hayat talks to Ahmed, who suspects that she knows about Farida, with whom he quarrels. Hayat asks Ahmed for a divorce.
As Dalia asks her father why her mother wants a divorce, he says that he doesn’t know and didn’t ask her. Hayat stays in a room away from her husband. Ahmed tells Farida that his wife asked for a divorce upon learning that he has a mistress. The doctor tells Alia that Hayat has cancer.
Dalia tells her father that her mother has cancer. As Alia tells Hayat that she has cancer, Hayat laughs, then collapses. Hayat takes off her wedding ring and gives it to her husband Ahmed right before entering the operating room. Hayat's operation is successful. Ahmed leaves Farida.
Hayat's mastectomy succeeds in removing the tumor; the doctor asks her to follow up with her till she beats the disease. An overjoyed Hayat overhears her husband telling Farida that he won’t return to her as he still loves his wife. As Hayat grieves over losing her hair, Ahmed returns to her.
Amani quarrels with her friends, as she goes out for dinner with them, only to discover that they set her up with an engineer, who wants to go out with her to discuss marriage. Amani goes home and cries, then suddenly she sees a light coming from the street into her room.
When Khaled meets Amani, he tells her that he is the one who flashed the headlights into her room as he used to do in the past. Khaled and Amani recall past memories of their wedding date, which was set but never took place, and then his decision to immigrate to America.
Amani tells her friends her story with Khaled and that she still loves him like before. When Amani asks Khaled whether he got married during that time, he doesn’t respond. Khaled calls Amani, but she doesn’t answer him. .
As Amani learns from Amr, Khaled’s pal, that Khaled’s daughter, Hana, will come to live with him in Egypt, she loses it, and tells her friend that she wants to meet the suitor whom she met before to get to know him better. Khaled tells Amani that he still loves her and hopes she can forgive him.
Khaled's father asks to meet Amani to get to know her. Hana calls her father Khaled and tells him that she won’t come to Egypt. As Amani learns that Khaled will return to America again, she burst into tears. Khaled sends a message to Amani, promising her that he will come back.
As Gharib gets angry with his wife, Maryam, for working without his knowledge, she tells him that she did it because she wanted to help him. When Gharib’s brother tells him that Eid wants to marry his daughter Amal and in return he will drop his debt, Gharib refuses and rages at his brother Rabea.
Gharib refuses to wed his daughter to Eid, and tells his friend Radwan that he took a loan from Eid to buy the shop's goods, and that he’ll work for a while in the new buildings, asking him to take care of his family. Marei, the cafe owner, tries to assault Maryam, but Gharib rescues her.
As Marei falls unconscious, Gharib calls his friend Radwan, takes Marei to the hospital, and leaves with Maryam, who gets more nervous, thinking that Marei is dead, until her friend tells her that he is still alive, but in critical condition.
Radwan tells Gharib that Eid has filed a suit against him because of the promissory note he wrote him in exchange for the money he borrowed. Maryam and her daughters work to help with living expenses. As Marei awakes from his coma, a terrified Maryam calls Gharib and tells him to flee.
Marei accuses Gharib of trying to killing him; the police arrest Gharib, who says he was defending his honor. Marei is told that there’s no case, since there’s no evidence. As Marei leaves the hospital, a vengeful Gharib follows him, when suddenly he's hit by a car and dies.
