Assem El Tarshoubi frames the guard Hassanein for the murder charge and puts him in prison. As the children grow up, Assem's son, Saeed, falls for Nimat, Hassanein's daughter. Ahmed gets engaged to his cousin Souad.
Ehab goes to Souad's engagement party, after which his father, Kamel El Wardani, dies. Salma, Kamel's second wife, goes to her co-wife's house and tells her about their secret marriage. Assem asks Dabour to kill Hossam after the latter demanded his right to his father's inheritance.
Hossam escapes being killed by Dabour. Assem forges the papers of the late Kamel and signs over his entire property for his son Ehab. Salma goes to her co-wife and asks her for money in exchange for waiving her right to her late husband's inheritance.
Assem objects to his son Hammouda marrying his sweetheart Saadia, but eventually agrees to his betrothing her. Hossam waives his right to inherit through a paper that he wrote to his half-brother on his father's side, Ehab, in exchange for working for him.
Hossam plots to drive a wedge between Ehab and his uncle, Assem, while the latter asks Dabour to burn Ehab's entire crop.
Hamouda quarrels with his father and tells him that he learned of his interference to stop his marriage to Saadia. As Dabour burns Ehab's crop, the latter accuses his brother Hossam of doing it.
Maghawry saves Hossam from trying to kill Assem El Tarshoubi. Rawayeh incites Hamouda to take revenge on his father Assem. Hassanein saves Hossam from an attempt on his life by Dabour after he hit him on the head and put him in front of a train.
Hamouda goes to his father and demands his right to his mother's inheritance. Assem feigns illness and asks his son to leave the house. Maghawry tells Rawayeh that Dabour is the one who put her husband Hassanein in prison with Assem El Tarshoubi's help.
Hamouda decides to work on a land other than his father's. Assem El Tarshoubi refuses to fulfill his promise to wed his daughter Souad to her lover Ahmed. He also goes to Rawayeh and asks her to stop inciting his children against him.
When Assem asks Dabour to burn Rawayeh's cafe, Dabour refuses to comply, which angers Assem, who vows to make him pay. Assem intervenes to spoil Hossam's admission to the Police Academy.
Rawayeh objects to her husband Hassanein's escape from the hospital, but he does anyway. Dabour and his men escape from the police.
Assem asks Dabour to tell him about the whereabouts of his son Hamouda, but he refuses. Hossam enrolls in the Police Academy. Hamouda participates with Dabour and some bandits in a robbery of a goldsmiths' shop.
Dabour tells Hamouda that the police are looking for him everywhere after they found his fingerprints in the goldsmiths' shop. As the officer goes to Assem and tells him that he has a warrant for his arrest, Assem becomes furious.
After the police arrest Hamouda, he refuses to meet his father, Assem, in the police station. He also confesses to Officer Hossam that he committed the crimes of looting and theft, yet he refuses to inform on his accomplices.
Rawayeh tells her daughter Nimat that Hassanein El Dahshan is her father. She tells her his full story and about Assem's injustice towards him. Hamouda escapes from the police station and goes to confront Dabour.
Saeed asks his father, Assem, that he marry Nimat, Hassanein and Rawayeh's daughter, but he refuses. Souad tells her father about her refusal to marry Ehab. As Assem goes to ask for Nimat's hand for his son Saeed, Hassanein and Rawayeh refuse.
Ehab gets married to Souad. Medhat returns from abroad and learns that his brother Assem stole from him during his absence, after which he confronts him and asks him to return his money. Hassanein El Dahshan agrees to wed his daughter Nimat to Saeed.
Hossam tries to arrest Dabour and Hamouda in Rawayeh's cafe, but the latter intervenes and helps them escape. Ehab shoots Assem.
Hamouda escapes from Hossam, while Ehab escapes from the bandits of the mountain and tries to get his money and the lands’ documents from Assem. After Ehab goes to the mountain, he discovers that he obtained fake money and documents from Assem.
Hossam asks Dabour to tell him where Hamouda and Ehab are, and as Dabour tries to escape, Hossam shoots him. Hassanein gets acquitted of murder, and Ahmed marries his beloved Souad.
