During World War II, Sherlock Holmes is chosen to protect a bombsight from the Nazis, after which its inventor, Dr. Tobel, is abducted by Professor Moriarty. Holmes and Dr. Watson must decipher a code that Tobel left that will lead them to the device before falling into the wrong hands.
When a British agent feels the Nazis closing in, he hides sensitive documents with an unknowing socialite, whereupon Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson set out to Washington to recover the documents before the Germans do.
