Akram tells Rouh he quit his job and is taking them on a week-long trip to Turkey. While having lunch, he meets his friend Omar. Later, Akram takes their son away to force Rouh to cross the border to ISIS with them, to which she agrees.

Rouh is forced to wear a niqab during their trip to the ISIS-controlled territory. Later, Omar renames Akram Abu Seif El Masry, and Akram decides to become a member of the ISIS armed forces. Lina, Omar's (Abu Osama's) wife introduces herself to Rouh.

Akram and Rouh's son suffers from hemophilia. Omar teaches Akram how to use and handle weapons. Rouh tries to contact her father and fails, and is endangered trying to save her son after cutting himself while playing.

Akram tries to get physical with Rouh but she rejects him. Meanwhile, Omar tells Akram he will train him for an important battle ahead. Later, Omar brings Seif's medicine at night and tries to touch Rouh, who later tells Akram.

Rouh and Seif witness the whipping of a woman by the leader of Al Khansaa Brigade for trying to escape ISIS, and she turns out to be Sheikh Nassar's wife. Afterwards, Rouh smokes a cigarette with Lina in their shared yard.

A woman drops off a cellphone at Rouh's doorstep with which she contacts her father, and Lina tells Omar she suspects that Rouh has a phone. Meanwhile, Rouh goes to meet the woman -Hilda- at the spice shop and is arrested by Al Khansaa Brigade on her way back.

Umm Gihad asks Rouh to join Al Khansaa Brigade, and she agrees. Both Akram and Rouh take combat training and learn how to use weapons. Rouh later goes with Umm Gihad to the widows' guest house and sees how they are treated.

Rouh and Akram reconcile and she asks him not to go on this conquest. However, he does go, and he and his companions are shot and presumably killed. Meanwhile, a bomb is placed in Sheikh Nassar's briefcase and it goes off in his office, killing him.

Omar delivers the news of Akram's presumed death to Rouh, and she is subsequently taken to the women's guest house. Meanwhile, Akram is taken as a prisoner by the Syrian Democratic Forces, and they interrogate him.

Hilda communicates with Rouh and tells her that it's time they escaped Raqqa. Meanwhile, Umm Gihad proposes to Omar, who tells Lina he has done everything to get to Rouh as she is the love of his life.

Rouh's escape plan fails, and she manages to avoid getting shot and runs away to the beautician's house to hide. Meanwhile, Omar prepares to repel the army's imminent attack on Raqqa.

Rouh meets Hilda, who gives her hope of escaping once again. Seif falls while playing, and Rouh takes him to the hospital, where she is later arrested by Al Khansaa Brigade. Meanwhile, Lina leaves Raqqa with several other jihadists' wives, and Akram is released.

Umm Gihad tortures Rouh, while Akram kidnaps a child in return for food, water, and medical care. Omar takes Rouh as a slave to protect her from a death sentence, while Umm Gihad confronts him and tells him she won't leave him.

Omar takes Rouh to his house, but she runs away to Umm Seoud after the house is bombed. Umm Seoud and Rouh agree to escape, but the former is killed while they're trying. Meanwhile, Lebanese photojournalist Nour saves Rouh, and Omar survives.

Umm Gihad surrenders, and Akram kills all the men in his group while praying. Omar surrenders to the army but under his own conditions and exits Raqqa safely with his men. Rouh manages to escape Raqqa and goes to Lebanon with Nour.
