The story centers on Dr. Nafisa, a successful philosopher and role model for her village. Especially Nawal, who studies philosophy in Cairo, lives with Nafisa and wants a doctorate like her. She refuses to marry her coworker Sami, but Nafisa advises her not to repeat her mistake of sacrificing marriage for her career, as she missed the chance to be happy and have children.
