Fayrouz remembers being forced to marry Ezzat, who is several years older than her. The wedding of her daughter Maryam and Doctor Omar, who is older than her daughter, takes place.

Omar sees Ezzat, his father-in-law, in an abnormal situation with Salma, Maryam's friend, and does not tell this to Fayrouz, whom Ezzat mistreats all the time.

Omar asks Maryam to break off her relationship with Salma, who plots with Yasmine to ruin Maryam's birthday party, and Omar begins to get close to Fayrouz.

As everyone celebrates Maryam's birthday, Yasmine spoils the party after revealing her previous relationship with Omar, who tells Fayrouz that he divorced her because she terminated her pregnancy because of her addiction, and it becomes clear that Yasmine and Ziad are in cahoots.

Ziad tries to use Maryam's collapse to his advantage, while Ezzat tells Omar that Fayrouz is not Maryam's real mother. The doctor tells Maryam that she is pregnant, while Fayrouz attempts suicide.

Omar places Salma in rehab. Ezzat asks Fayrouz for another chance, but his quarrel with Ziad and his expulsion from the factory prompt the latter to convince Yasmine to confront Maryam and Ezzat with their marriage. Maryam agrees to return to Omar after patching things up.

As Omar decides to emigrate with Maryam and close his clinic, Fayrouz informs him of her pregnancy, so he postpones everything, while he tries to help her get rid of the fetus. Ezzat threatens to kick Yasmine out of the house after her bad treatment of the maid, Umm Zainab.

Fayrouz surprises Omar with her decision to return to Ezzat so that her baby could be registered with him as the father. As Ziad believes that Farah has cheated on him with Omar, he tries to take revenge on him, and Ezzat divorces Yasmine to please Maryam.

Ziad tries to attack Maryam, and Omar saves her. Farah tells Ziad that Fayrouz is with Omar in a doctor's clinic to terminate the pregnancy, so he bargains with them in exchange for his silence to return Ezzat's factory to him, while Salma escapes from rehab and turns to Yasmine.

Omar rejects Fayrouz's decision to tell Ezzat about her pregnancy and that he is the father, and Ezzat finds out that Yasmine has transferred the ownership of the apartment to Ziad.

Ezzat tries to find out if he can have children after he underwent a previous operation that prevents him from having children. He also asks his lawyer to sign over all his property to Maryam. Farah informs the police of Ziad's beating of her, and Salma discovers Omar's whereabouts.

As Ezzat tells Maryam that Fayrouz is not her mother and that she cheated on him, she breaks down and turns to Omar, who tells her of his relationship with Fayrouz, and he is surprised when he finds Maryam's body covered in blood in his house.

Omar tries to remove Fayrouz's murder charge away from him, and Ezzat breaks down at the news of Maryam's death. The police interrogate Omar, and it's revealed that Maryam threatened Fayrouz with killing herself, which actually led to her death.

Ezzat attends Maryam's funeral, and Farah deceives Ziad and bargains with him to divorce her and transfer ownership of the apartment in her name in exchange for telling the police that he was with her at the time of Maryam's death. Ezzat kills Ziad and turns himself in to the police.

Salma commits suicide with an overdose, while Omar sells his apartment and returns to live with his mother. As Fayrouz asks Ezzat in prison for a divorce, she ends her guilt by killing Omar and committing suicide with poison.
