The events revolve around the Rabdhiyyin sedition in the year 196 AH, when the Rabdhiyyin leave Andalusia and roam the land after the victory of the ruler of Andalusia, Hisham ibn al-Hakam, over them. They clash with the forces of Caliph Al-Ma'mun in the East, and are besieged between the armies of the Umayyads and the Abbasids.
