Set in 1920s Britain; with poet and writer Robert Graves shellshocked, he starts struggling with his creative work. As the American writer Laura Riding enters the picture, Nancy, Robert's wife, comes to accept the fact that Laura has become her husband's mistress. But when the three start living together, things get complicated and threaten to destroy their lives.
