Zain runs a car repair shop, and lives with his mother, Zahira, whom he wants to make undergo a liver transplant, much to the chagrin of his fiancée, Gamila, who aspires to live a luxurious life. Zahira hides from Zain the fact that his father, Zakaria El Deeb, is still alive.
The Asham family vows to take revenge on Zain, the son of Zakaria El Deeb, for the death of their son, Zaher, while the police believe that Zain is a serial killer who escaped from a death sentence and arrests him.
After his health deteriorates, Zakaria gathers his family members to divide his wealth among them after losing hope of finding Zain, who is still detained pending investigation.
Zain injures himself in order to be transferred to the hospital, and after a failed escape attempt, he tells officer Hassan his story, while Zahira tries to reach her father, Rehan, but discovers that he is imprisoned. Zakaria and Azouz meet Ragab Al Khanka to complete the sale of antiquities.
Ragab's men search for gold bars at Zakaria's house, while Zakaria's daughter, Habiba, finds out that she's pregnant. Zahira tells Zain that she had to run away with him when he was little to keep him away from Zakaria and his ill-gotten money, and her father forged Zain's birth certificate under the name, Zain Mansour Abu Al Lail.
Zain stands in a lineup at the Public Prosecution Office to be identified by the killer's henchmen, who recognize him, amid Zain's shock. As Zakaria distributes his property among his family members and makes Azouz his successor after his death, Zahira enlists his help to save Zain.
Zakaria meets Zain and promises to stand by him in his ordeal, while Zakaria's family becomes disappointed after losing their chance to share his wealth between them. Farag tells Bashayer that Zain is found to avenge her son by killing him in exchange for marrying her daughter, Nahya.
Nahya enters Zain's room in the hospital to try to kill him, but she could not, then she tells Zain about his father's injustice and his killing of her brother. Ragab disguises himself as a doctor to take revenge on Zain and calls Zakaria while giving Zain an injection.
It's revealed that Ragab was only threatening Zakaria and did not harm Zain, and asks him to bring him a papyrus containing a map of the closed cemeteries, while Rehan and his daughter Zahira are being investigated regarding forging Zain's birth certificate.
Zakaria threatens the killer's assistant son to change his false testimony against Zain and confess the truth. Zakaria's men attack the killer and his gang. Habiba goes to Zain's hospital and puts poison in his juice.
As Zakaria hands the killer over to the police, Zain prepares for his release, and Zakaria prepares a big reception celebrating Zain's innocence. It's revealed that Gamila replaced the juice bottle, so Habiba drank the poison instead of Zain, and she's treated, but she loses the fetus.
Zakaria's family wants to resume giving him the medicine that makes his health worse, and Gamila joins them in carrying out the plan. Bashayer warns Nahya not to think about Zain, while Nahya's uncle, Tarraf, prepares to avenge Zaher by killing Zain.
The people of Ezbet Shalaby celebrate Zain's return and his innocence, while Tarraf's attempt to kill Zain fails after Nahya replaces the bullets with fake ones. Zakaria gives Zain his business books to make sure that his money is legitimate.
As Zain discovers that there is fraud in the accounts, Zakaria appoints him as the new leader of El Deeb family. After Azouz gets rid of Tarraf, he tries to get close to Gamila, but she rebuffs him.
As Zahira refuses to live with Zain's newfound money, she leaves Zakaria's house. Haz tries to cast a spell so that her daughter, Maha, will marry Zain, and that Azouz will marry Gamila.
Bashayer loses consciousness after learning of the death of her brother Tarraf, and Zain takes her to the hospital. Zain checks the accounts of El Deeb family stores, revealing a large deficit.
After Zakaria discovers that his family has agreed with a fake doctor who prescribes medicine for him and convinces him that he has cancer, he declares war on them and expels them from the neighborhood after stripping them of everything they possess.
Zakaria offers Gamila money in exchange for leaving Zain, so she plans to take revenge on him, while the members of El Deeb family suffer after leaving the neighborhood empty-handed, and Azouz plans to seize Zakaria's gold.
Zain convinces Zakaria to end his monopoly on the market. Azouz cooperates with Ragab in getting rid of Zakaria and taking possession of the antiquities, and he plans with Jarhi to facilitate his entry into the neighborhood.
Ghazal arrives in the neighborhood to take revenge on Zain for the death his father, Tarraf. El Deeb family goes to the cinema to ward off suspicion while Ragab's men implement the plan to get rid of Zakaria and Zain, who succeed in confronting them with Nahya's help.
As Zakaria confesses to Zain that he trades in antiquities, he asks him to take the gold he was hiding, but he finds that it has disappeared, then Zakaria dies of his wounds after setting fire to the dump. Azouz regains control of Zakaria's shops and obtains a copy of the antiquities map.
Gamila and Noussa are taught a lesson by the women of El Deeb family, while Azouz tries to woo Gamila to marry him. Bashayer and Nahya go to Asham in prison to agree to his daughter's marriage to her cousin, Ghazal.
Azouz and Ragab discover that the antiquities are buried under the mosque. Habiba and Maha slip jewelry and drugs into Gamila's bag, but Zain says that it belongs to him, and he is arrested.
As Zain relinquishes his inheritance from his father, the El Deeb family discovers that Zakaria had left all his possessions to Zahira. Azouz asks Gamila to get rid of Zahira, while Nahya decides to enter an auction with the rest of the merchants against El Deeb family.
Marassi warns her son Zeinhom about his relationship with his girlfriend, Dina. Gamila gets rid of Zahira by giving her an insulin overdose, while Zain tries to get permission to get out of jail to bury his mother.
Zain manages to attend Zahira's funeral, while Habiba plans to get rid of Azouz with the help of Maha. As Zain meets the bully Dabes in jail, he asks for his help to escape and take revenge on El Deeb family.
The El Deeb family decides to enter the auction in front of Nahya, with Ragab's help. Azouz marries Gamila, while Habiba fails to poison him. As Maha refuses to marry Sharara, she confesses that she planted the drugs for Gamila, so Zain, who is up to something, is released.
After his release from prison, Zain takes control of his property again and expels his family members from the house. Dina's father catches her with Zeinhom in her room. Rehan gets out of prison and confesses to Zain that he stole Zakaria's gold to stop his tyranny.
Zeinhom marries Dina, who turns out to be Farag's niece. After Azouz's men steal Nahya's auction security deposit, Azouz wins the auction, but Zain steals the merchandise that Azouz bought. As Zain asks Nahya to marry him, Asham is released from prison.
Asham discovers that Azouz is the one who killed Zaher. Marassi attempts to poison Farag, but Zeinhom dies instead, so she kills herself. As Ragab buys the antiquities from Azouz, the members of El Deeb family die under the rubble after the cemetery collapses. Zain marries Nahya.
