Jalal and Khosrow are political prisoners who are subjected to severe torture to confess to their political activities. Jalal is tough and resists torture, but Khosrow cannot resist and promises to cooperate. They are released in order to have Jalal watched and uncover his activities, while Khosrow is assigned to monitor him.
