Saleh's car accident causes him to become paralyzed, and his children celebrate the birthday of their aunt Munira, who is upset that she has reached the age of forty without getting married, while his wife Latifa takes advantage of this to mock her.
Latifa is upset by her son Mishal's relationship with the employee Mai and rejects the idea of their union, while Mustafa suffers his wife's neglect of their home and their children and her frequent travel.
Latifa rages at Saleh and reminds him of his cheating on her all the time. She refuses to let Munira stay in her house and seeks to get her married to anyone to get rid of her. Mustafa divorces his wife, and Jawa admires Shamlan and seeks to get closer to him.
Mustafa confesses his love to Munira and asks her to marry him, while Waddah takes advantage of his position in the company and transfers her money to his personal account. Waddah advises Iyad not to get attached to Mai.

As Mai tries to apologize to Mishal, she asks Iyad to mediate to reconcile them. The latter takes advantage of the situation and pushes Mishal to become addicted to drugs. As Saleh regains his health and becomes able to move again, he visits his wife, Dina, the mother of his son Naji.
Mai leaves her job at the company. Latifa fears Saleh's revenge on her for her bad treatment of him during his illness. Munira seeks to get closer to the teacher Ayman, and Saleh asks Dina to stay with him at Latifa's house.
Saleh surprises his family with his wife Dina and son Naji. Sharifa tells Jawa that Shamlan is cheating on her, while Mai continues to pursue Mishal, who falls prey to addiction. Munira’s relationship with Ayman develops.
Mai succeeds in patching things up between her and Mishal, who considers treatment for addiction. Latifa quarrels with Jawa for getting close to her brother Naji. Waddah returns to his previous love affairs and tries to trap Amal.
Zeina discovers Waddah's relationship with Amal, and tells Munira of her desire to marry Ayman. Latifa is furious with Mishal's insistence on marrying Mai, and Iyad tells Waddah of his love for Mai.
Zeina breaks off her engagement to Waddah. Ayman asks Munira to choose between traveling with him to Beirut or breaking off their relationship, but Saleh rejects the idea of him marrying her. Mishal agrees to get treatment for addiction.
Waddah threatens to take revenge on Zeina. Jawa quarrels with Shamlan because he deceived her and got engaged to another woman, so she beats him.
Iyad tries to get closer to Mai by taking advantage of Mishal’s travel. Sharifa marries Suleiman and Zeina gets married. Mishal employs his sister Jawa in the company, and Munira turns to her father’s friend to convince Saleh to agree to her marriage to Ayman.
Mai refuses to be with Mishal because of his continued addiction. Waddah agrees with Iyad to take revenge on Zeina, and Saleh insists on his rejection of Ayman marrying Munira.
Jawa is upset when she learns of Sharifa's marriage to Shamlan. Waddah threatens to take revenge on Zeina. As Munira retires from work, she decides to leave home, travel with Ayman, and get married without her family's knowledge.
Quarrels begin to arise between Sharifa and Shamlan after she discovers his affairs. Mai asks Jawa to help her return to Mishal.
Saleh is shocked that Munira left the house and traveled with Ayman. Mishal tries once again to get back together with Mai, while Sharifa and Shamlan’s relationship becomes strained and is at stake.
Iyad continues his plot against Mishal, and when the latter takes an overdose of drugs, he is taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Waddah agrees with Iyad to drive a wedge between Ibrahim and Zeina. Sharifa becomes certain of Shamlan’s infidelity and his many affairs. Mishal dies in the hospital.
Latifa collapses after the death of Mishal and becomes paralyzed. Months pass and Munira gives birth to a son and names him Mishal. Waddah asks Zeina to marry him after her divorce from Ibrahim, and Sharifa also breaks up with Shamlan.
Saleh treats Latifa harshly during her illness, just as she treated him before. Yehia gets close to Jawa. As Mai remains sad about Mishal, Iyad asks her to marry him. Zeina decides to take revenge on Waddah for her divorce from Ibrahim.
Ibrahim confesses to Sharifa that he likes her and asks her to marry him. Zeina scolds Waddah for ruining her life, and Mai decides to take revenge on Iyad.
As Mai agrees to marry Iyad, she puts poison in his food to get rid of him. Waddah discovers that he was the reason for Mishal's addiction. Jawa marries Yehia and gives birth.
