Henry Carpenter finds himself in a bind when he and his wife Millicent are envied by their wealthy neighbors for their lavish wine cellar, in the wake of the Volstead Act's prohibition on alcohol. With the wine running low, Henry becomes challenged before a dinner party, so he delivers a passionate speech denouncing the dangers of drinking alcohol. Still, things turn upside down as events unfold.
