Ghalia discovers that her father, Abdel Salam, was poisoned to death by his friend, Si Tayyebi, one of the notables of the Sebib tribe. Fearing that she would expose him, he imprisons her, but she manages to escape and heads to the Sultan’s court seeking justice.
