Raafat, a trainee lawyer at Al Attar's office, investigates Madame Rita's seizure of the factory of the wealthy widow, Faten. He discovers that Rita married Sherif, Faten's late husband, after he refused to be appointed to the Public Prosecution.

Raafat negotiates with Rita's lawyer without Al Attar's permission, prompting Al Attar to fire him from the firm. Faten grants him power of attorney to close Rita's case.

Faten intervenes with Al Attar to help Raafat complete his training. Hoda works at the Helwan Company, and her colleague Ismail helps her write her memoirs. Raafat asks Faten to help him open his own office.

Raafat demands from his fiancée Hoda's father that he stop working before the wedding. Ismail suffers from a stutter due to an old school accident. Raafat proposes to Faten and marries her.

Hoda discovers Ismail's love for her, while Raafat travels to Paris and opens his new office. Faten transfers her cases from Al Attar to Raafat. Hoda tells her aunt that Ismail proposed to her after Raafat's marriage to Faten.

Raafat goes to Hoda's workplace under the pretext of seeing Ismail, while Faten invites Hoda to lunch after she returns from her honeymoon, but Hoda insists that Ismail accompany her.

Hoda, Ismail, and Al Attar attend Faten's dinner party, and there, Raafat deliberately corners Ismail in a dialogue until his stuttering becomes apparent to everyone. Then, disputes ignite between Raafat and Faten because of Hoda.

Raafat leaves the house and Faten asks for a divorce, so he blackmails her over the check he signed for her in exchange for the office apartment. Ismail decides to break up with Hoda, fearing embarrassment. Raafat discovers that her engagement has been broken off before Faten tells him she's pregnant.

Raafat insists on divorce in exchange for the check, but Al Attar suggests paying the amount in installments. Raafat changes his mind and asks to return to Faten after learning about the pregnancy.

Hoda's father dies and Faten learns that her engagement has been broken off. Meanwhile, Hoda represents the Helwan Company in a case against a party represented by Raafat.

Hoda and Ismail defend the Helwan Company, leading to the postponement of the case until they present the land allocation document. Raafat tries to obstruct the process with a bribe, but Ismail obtains it, so Raafat offers Hoda a large sum of money to hide it.

The company loses the case, and Raafat plots to lose the opportunity to appeal with a bribe and claims a position that suggests Ismail is corrupt. Then, the court employee changes the case number, and Hoda loses it.

Faten asks for a divorce, Hoda refuses to marry Raafat, Ismail proves the bribery attempt, and the defendants admit Raafat's involvement. The prosecution charges him, the disciplinary board suspends him for a year, and Faten gives him one last chance to see his son.
