The wealthy man Johnny Rose used to own a video store chain, but now he and his family are completely broke, and they all have to go live in the remote town of Schitt's Creek.
In season two, the Roses resume their exploits, as they look for David, who has gone missing, while the relationship between Alexis and Mutt develops despite her engagement to Ted, and Johnny talks himself into forming a partnership with Bob.
In season 3, new developments unfold with the Rose family, including Johnny's searching for a new purpose, David and Stevie's trying to deal with their new relationship, and Moira and Alexis's trying to bond as mother and daughter.
In season four, the Rose family finally adapts to their new life in Schitt's Creek, but the adjustment does not make this life any easier, as all family members suffer from difficulties in their personal and professional lives.
