Dr. Lloyd, an alcoholic doctor, seeks to stop merchants from exploiting divers in coastal Polynesia. The divers are fatally injured in exchange for pearls for a low price. When Lloyd protests, the merchants plot revenge by leaving him on an unmanned ship sailing towards an unknown fate.
