Umm Hanna (Hanna's mother) cheats on her crippled husband, and runs away with her lover, leaving her son Hanna and his sister Remona with their father, who dies. Remona's fiancé, Halim, leaves her because of her mother's bad reputation.
Years pass and Hanna becomes a car mechanic. He likes Therese, whose father rejects their relationship due to Umm Hanna’s bad reputation. The two decide to get married behind her family’s back. Umm Hanna’s complex continues to haunt her son, who suspects his wife of having an affair with his friend.
Halim's wife is upset that he met his ex-fiancée, Remona. As Hanna discovers that his mother is still alive, he continues to hit Therese as he sees his mother in her, while Therese's friend Lina advises her to run away and leave him.
Umm Therese dies, and Therese considers separating from Hanna to protect her pregnancy. Her sister takes her to the hospital after Hanna hits her. As Halim confesses to Remona that he still loves her, Hanna thinks that she is as disreputable as her mother and decides to kill her.
Therese has a miscarriage, while Hanna thinks that she got rid of the baby so that she could run away and cheat on him.
The neighbors hear Therese screaming as Hanna hits her, so she attempts suicide. She is taken to the hospital in serious condition, then dies. Remona considers reporting Hanna to the police, while the latter remarries shortly after Therese's death.
