The journalist Omar meets his old neighbor Saleh. When Omar's father and his wife visit him, they admire Saleh's daughter, Manal, and decide to ask for her hand in marriage for their son Omar.

Manal initially refuses to marry Omar because she feels that traditional marriage without love and acquaintance is against the principles Omar advocates in the newspaper, but the latter succeeds in convincing Manal otherwise.

Omar marries Manal, and he refuses to let her work, so she feels bored. Her friend Heba and Dr. Imad try to find a solution to Omar and Manal’s problem, and they present the problem to the journalist Amina, who seeks to help both parties.

Omar resents Amina's interference in his personal life, and Manal suggests that she work with Omar in the newspaper, but he also refuses.

Omar and Manal break up, and Amina helps her join the newspaper, which ignites Omar's anger, and he agrees to sell his house to Imad so that it does not remind him of anything about her.

Amina tries to convince Manal not to return to Omar. Manal meets Omar's ex-lover, Laila, and the latter tells her that he is a strict man and contravenes the principles he spreads about women's freedom.

Omar quits his job at the newspaper and withdraws from people, so Manal contacts him and tries to save him from his isolation. She decides to return to him when she feels a change in his way of thinking about her and women. Omar gets back his house that he sold.
