Former actress and star Jane Hudson lives in a large mansion to take care of her sister, Blanche, a former child actress who has surpassed her as a movie star. Blanche intends to take revenge on Jane for the car accident that left her paralyzed years earlier. Meanwhile, Jane plots her return to fame, trying to hide Blanche's existence from doctors, visitors, and neighbors, and devising a way to get rid of her.
