Our guest curators will all be present to introduce the films. This program is the first in a series of screenings that aim to decenter the “west” by programming films from the global south, broadly defined. By exploring different cinematic geographies, this program aims to introduce audiences to the rich historical and contemporary filmmaking practices from different parts of the world that are often marginalized in favor of films from Western Europe and North America.
