The mayor (the mukhtar) reconciles Abu Munir (Munir's father) and Hikmet Pasha, ending the dispute between them by deciding to marry Munir to Hikmet’s daughter, Zahra. On their wedding night, Bilal kills Munir at the instigation of Sabah, and Abu Munir believes that Hikmet is behind this.
Hikmet offers his condolences in the death of Munir, but his father refuses to accept them. Hanan scolds her mother, Sabah, for what she did, and the latter plots with Bilal to throw Hikmet's son, Gamal, off a horse to take revenge on him.
Abu Munir gets angry when his son Adham asks to marry Hanan, Sabah's daughter. Adham asks the mayor to fix things between Abu Munir and Hikmet.
Thuraya, Hikmet's wife, dies while giving birth. Adham tries to convince Hanan to marry him secretly, and disputes arise between Sabah and Gamal over her daughter.
Hanan secretly marries Adham. Sabah quarrels with Gamal's sister and assaults her, and Abu Munir is beaten by an unknown person, while his wife, Hala, believes that Hikmet is behing it.
Sabah suspects that Bilal and Hilal assaulted Abu Munir. Hanan becomes pregnant and tries to end her pregnancy. A quarrel erupts between Hamdi and his brother Hisham because of the latter's unemployment.
Hanan incites Adham against Hikmet and tells him about the latter's assault on Abu Munir. Then Hanan falsely claims that Gamal assaulted and raped her.
Hikmet kills his son Gamal for raping Hanan and compromising her honor, but the midwife, Umm Hamdi, becomes suspicious after examining her.
Everyone grows suspicious of Hanan and her false accusations against Gamal. Samar decides to search for the truth. Hikmet is forced to claim that a thief killed his son Gamal in front of the neighborhood elders.
Hikmet forces Umm Hamdi (Hamdi's mother) to swear that Hanan was not a virgin when she was examined, and Adliya is forced to quit working for Sabah.
Sabah doubts Zahra's ability to speak again. Sabah agrees with Umm Hamdi to choose a suitor for Samar to get rid of her. Adham is upset by Hanan's change of heart towards him.
Adham asks Umm Hamdi to mediate with Sabah to agree to his marriage to Hanan. Umm Waheeba discovers that her daughter is working as a maid in the house of her ex-husband, Hikmet Pasha.
To approve of Adham's marriage to Hanan, Sabah stipulates that he accuse Samar of not being a virgin. When Adham tries to do so, her sister Camelia falls from the top of the stairs and dies while holding him.
Waheeba tells Samar that she is her half-sister from her father, Hikmet. Sabah gets angry because Adham accidentally killed Camelia instead of Samar and threatens him. Hamdi decides to quit working for Hikmet.
Waheeba vows to take revenge on Sabah and Hanan for what they did to Camelia. Then Waheeba warns Samar about Sabah. Hikmet prepares to receive the chief merchant in the town.
Hikmet receives the chief merchant at his home, and Hisham shoots at the chief merchant but accidentally hits Sabah. It turns out that Hisham is Sabah's son and she plotted with him to kill the chief merchant.
Hikmet tells the governor that he suspects that Abu Munir is behind the attempted murder of the chief merchant, so the police arrest him. Umm Munir threatens Hikmet that she will expose his marriage to Umm Waheeba if her husband is not released.
Sabah gets angry and threatens Hikmet after he quarrels with her and hits her. A masked man burns down Abu Arab’s café, and the latter accuses Hikmet of burning it down. Umm Hamdi tells Adham that Sabah wants him to marry Samar.
It turns out that Gamal, Hikmet's son, did not die, and that Hikmet asked him to hide with Abu Sultan in order for him to uncover the tricks of Sabah and her daughter Hanan, who discover that Waheeba is Hikmet's daughter.
Samar threatens Hanan with revealing that Adham killed Camelia, and Umm Gamal convinces Hikmet to agree to Adham's marriage to Hanan. Meanwhile, Waheeba is still preparing to reveal her connection to Hikmet.
Abu Arab quarrels with Abu Munir because of the latter's return to work in trade. Abu Munir becomes angry when he learns that Hikmet agreed to Adham's marriage to Hanan. Adliya blackmails Sabah financially and threatens to expose everything she did.
Abu Munir is forced to ask for Hanan's hand from Hikmet to marry Adham, and the latter asks Hikmet not to hold a wedding. Sabah tells Waheeba how Hikmet took her money, that she was the reason for his wealth, and that he decided to marry another woman so he could have children.
Sabah quarrels with Hamdi and prevents him from taking revenge on Hikmet so that he does not spoil her plans to achieve this. Sabah reveals to Umm Gamal that her son is still alive. Also, Sabah succeeds in causing discord between Bilal and Hilal, and Abu Munir is killed.
Hilal confesses to Hisham that Hikmet incited him to kill Abu Munir. Hikmet agrees to let Hisham work on his farm. Adham insists on avenging his father and believes that Abu Arab killed him. Hikmet asks for Samar's aunt's hand in marriage.
Samar tries to find out the relationship between Sabah and Hisham, while Hikmet decides to marry the latter to Waheeba. Hikmet blackmails Abu Arab into making him his partner in the café in exchange for getting him released from prison. Also, Hikmet asks Hisham to kill Sabah.
Hisham tells his mother, Sabah, that Hikmet wants to kill her. After Samar's aunt marries Hikmet, she transfers ownership of the house to Samar. Abu Arab swears to Adham that he did not kill Abu Munir, and Gamal returns to his mother's house.
Sabah proposes to Zahra to marry Hamdi. Samar becomes furious when she learns that Gamal is still alive and that Hanan and Adham are behind Camelia's killing. The governor asks Hikmet to handle a new business deal, but the latter refuses.
Samar forgives Hanan, and the latter asks her mother to stop the bloodshed and take revenge on Hikmet, who is shocked when he learns that Waheeba is his daughter, and Sabah reveals to Samar that Hisham is her son.
Hisham reveals to Adham everything Hikmet did. Gamal disappears and Hikmet threatens to get rid of Umm Hamdi's son if she does not reveal Gamal's whereabouts. Hanan asks the latter to forgive her for what she did.
Adham hosts Gamal in his home, and Hanan dies after being imprisoned by Hikmet, who is arrested by the police before he attempts to kill Adham. In a flashback, it becomes clear that Hikmet killed Sabah's first husband, and Sabah kills Hikmet to avenge her daughter.
