The Bumsteads spend their summer vacation in the mountains. The man they had issues with during the journey turns out to be the owner of the place they are staying when they get off the train. While searching for another hotel, they come across one that is owned by an old couple and is in danger of going bankrupt. The Bumsteads make the decision to take charge of running the hotel and assist in saving it.
