Basma is excited to buy a marital apartment so she can get out of living in her husband Masoud's family building. She struggles to raise money to do so. However, it all goes to waste when Masoud's brother, Monem, gets involved in a case of bounced checks.
Basma is furious when she learns that Masoud has seized the apartment money to pay for his brother Monem and get him out of prison. Masoud promises to pay her back. Meanwhile, Saeed wishes to have his son Moatasem father a child who will carry his name.
Moatasem decides to adopt a child, but his father refuses. Meanwhile, the relationship between Masoud and his wife, Basma, becomes tense, and he beats her despite her pregnancy.
At first, Sarah refuses to adopt a child with her husband, Moatasem. Basma leaves the house and returns to her family after a quarrel between her and Masoud. Masoud's mother tries to fix things between them.
Basma gets frustrated when she learns that Monem has some money that would enable him to pay the remaining bank checks, and she quarrels with Masoud for not returning her money to her. Moatasem and Sarah adopt a child and name him Mustafa.

Monem falsely testifies in his brother's favor against Basma in the divorce case, while Moatasem asks his sister Fatima to work with him in the printing house and monitor Tariq.
Basma gives birth to her child, and a problem arises between Basma and Masoud over naming the newborn after his mother. The lawyer advises Basma to give up all her rights if she wants a divorce. Fatima gets close to Omar while working at the factory.

Years pass, and Moatasem asks Basma to marry him. Masoud kidnaps his young daughter and continues to deal in drugs, while Omar secretly marries Fatima.
Masoud refuses to hand his daughter to Basma after her marriage to Moatasem, who promises Basma that he’ll have her daughter’s custody transferred to her grandmother, Basma's mother. A quarrel breaks out between Masoud and his second wife, and the police arrest him. Dina suspects Omar of cheating on her.
Masoud asks Monem to hire a lawyer to defend him. Quarrels break out between Moatasem and Basma because of Masoud. Faten tries to drive a wedge between Moatasem and Basma, and Dina insists on divorce when she discovers Omar's marriage to Fatima.

Ragheb insists that Walid travel abroad for work. Wafaa asks for a divorce. Laila tries to convince her sister Fatima to file a lawsuit to declare their father, Moatasem's father, legally incompetent.
Walid travels abroad. Wafaa gets a divorce. Masoud seeks to get a restraining order against Moatasem and Basma, and the lawyer suggests to Basma getting a divorce from Moatasem so she doesn't lose custody of her daughter.
Basma gets a divorce from Moatasem, and the latter's father dies, while disputes arise between Masoud and his partner in the printing house.
Moatasem tries to fix things with his sister. He marries Basma again, but in secret, and begins to reject the current situation.
Reem tells her father, Masoud, that Moatasem is at her mother, Basma's, house, confirming their secret marriage. Samah insists on working and has a quarrel with Monem.
Basma tears up the contract of her marriage to Moatasem so that Masoud cannot prove that she married him again. Then Masoud ends his work with Monem because of his wife, Samah, and in compliance with his mother's request.
Moatasem succeeds in buying out Masoud's share in the printing house, and Omar decides to leave Fatima and return to his first wife.
Masoud kidnaps his daughter and prepares to travel abroad, but after a car accident, he reconsiders taking revenge on Basma and decides to return their daughter to her.
