A Palestinian actor and director, born in 1976 in the Palestinian town of Um El-Fahim in Israel. He studied cinema at the Tel Aviv University before teaching comedy at the Hassan Aref School in Jaffa. After 6 short films and documentaries, and winning several awards in different festivals, he attracted attention with his first feature film, Thirst (2004), which was selected for the Critics Week at Cannes Film Festival, where it won the FIPRESCI Prize. |
