Toqa Hesham |
An Egyptian actress, who was born in Cairo in 1923 and enrolled in French schools. At the beginning of her life, she worked as a dancer and singer in both English and French. Her father, playwright Amin Sedky, helped her work in the theater. Her sister, Safia Sedky, helped her start her cinematic career through the movie Life of Darkness (1940), after which she worked extensively till the mid- 60s. She is known for Abu Halmoos (1947), The Little Millionaire (1948), and My Wife's Suitor (1959). After a period of working in Egyptian cinema, she traveled to Italy, and played small roles in some American and Italian films. She died in 2001, at age 78.
