He was an Egyptian director, writer, and actor who was born in Upper Egypt in 1910. As a child, he participated with his father Fawzy El Gazairely in the movie Madame Loretta (1919). He worked as a monologist through several theater groups, such as Salama Hijazi and Ali Al-Kassar, and then the Ramses Troupe, after which he directed his first film, Mr. Bahbah (1935), which he also co-starred in. He's known for Hassan, Marqos, and Koheen (1954), and Al-Shater Hassan (1948). He died of coronary artery blockage, in 1979.
